The first defense of a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in technical sciences by the scientist from BNTU in Uzbekistan.

Первая защита в Узбекистане ученым из БНТУ диссертации на соискание ученой степени доктора философии по техническим наукам

Advisor to the Rector of BNTU Andrey Svyatoslavovich Ponasenko successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in technical sciences at the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology in Tashkent. This is the first defense of scientists of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

– Andrey Svyatoslavovich, you have been preparing for this event for the last three years. Could you please tell us more about the stages of your work over the years?

– During this time, an experimental convective installation was manufactured in Uzbekistan, where research was carried out. According to the research results, 26 scientific papers were published, 9 of them are scientific articles, 3  of them were published in international and 6 in Uzbek journals. 5 qualification exams in the specialty at the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology were successfully passed. The results of scientific research were introduced into industrial production at SunnyLand Products, which manufactures convective installations. The dissertation work has been repeatedly corrected taking into account the comments received during its discussion.

– What stages of your work, in your opinion, were the most difficult, except, of course, presenting your thesis to the Higher Attestation Commission of Uzbekistan?

– Before defending the dissertation at the Higher Attestation Commission, the work and the abstract were reviewed at scientific meetings at the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov, Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and Ferghana Polytechnic Institute. Each review of the dissertation included my report with a presentation, answers to questions about the dissertation, answers to the comments of the reviewers and, accordingly, the vote of the members of the scientific meeting. It should be noted that one of the important criteria for evaluating a dissertation in Uzbekistan, in addition to scientific novelty, is its relevance and the expected economic effect of the results of its introduction into the country's economy.

– Did you feel support from the Uzbek side?

– Yes, absolutely. I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who supported me on this difficult path. Everyone I came across at work was wholeheartedly eager to help me. It is impossible to list all those who helped me, but I want to express special words of gratitude and appreciation for the support of the Chairman of the Scientific Council at the Tashkent Chemical Technology Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Turabdzhanov Sadriddin Mahamatdinovich, scientific Secretary of the Scientific Council, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Kadyrov Hassan Irgashevich, Chairman of the scientific seminar, Doctor Associate Professor Kamar Serkaev, my supervisor – to the Doctor of technical sciences, Professor Safarov Jasur Esirgapovich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Sultanova Shakhnoza Abduvakhitovna, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Uzakov Gulom Norboevich. Of course, also to my opponents: doctors of technical sciences, professors Mannanov Ulugbek Vasikovich and Kurbanov Jamshed Majidovich, as well as scientists of Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov, Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology, Ferghana Polytechnic Institute, reviewers from other universities, Sunny Land Products LLC and the Food Industry Association of Uzbekistan.

I sincerely hope that this new area of cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus will develop dynamically, bring mutual benefit to our scientists and serve as a good incentive for strengthening and developing good friendly relations between our countries.

– Thank you Andrey Svyatoslavovich for the informative story about your defense. We congratulate you and wish you further creative success!
