Focus on Cooperation: BNTU Hosts a Series of Meetings with Foreign Partners

Курс на сотрудничество: в БНТУ прошел ряд встреч с иностранными партнерами

Today, June 16, the Belarusian National Technical University became a major negotiating platform for the development of bilateral academic cooperation. A series of important meetings with delegations from the People's Republic of China took place at the country's leading technical university, aimed at implementing promising initiatives and strengthening existing partnerships.

For example, negotiations with a delegation from Nanjing University and representatives of the Sinomach company were held at the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park. The main topic was the development of a roadmap and joint educational programs for the China-Belarus Institute of Outstanding Engineers.

The meeting was attended by BNTU Rector Sergei Kharitonchik, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yuri Nikolaychik, Director of the International Institute of Distance Education Marina Sednina, and deans of BNTU faculties.

"We are very pleased that we are already approaching the organization of the China-Belarus Institute of Outstanding Engineers. I believe this will be a very effective training ground for new engineers who will be in high demand," noted Sergei Kharitonchik.

Two months ago, at the Great Stone Industrial Park, the parties signed an agreement establishing the China-Belarus Institute of Outstanding Engineers. The partners have now moved on to the practical part: at the meeting, the training format, student selection criteria, and admission requirements were finalized. All key organizational issues have been resolved, and the parties confirmed their readiness for the next stage of the project.

In addition, talks were held with representatives of Northeastern University. The Chinese delegation included Vice-Rector Xu Wei and Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office Bao Nisha. BNTU representatives were represented at the meeting by Timur Matyushinetz, Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work; Vladimir Kleenkov, Director of the BNTU Confucius Institute for Science and Technology (representing the Belarusian side); and Li Wenxue, Director of the BNTU Confucius Institute for Science and Technology (representing the Chinese side).

During the talks, the participants discussed three key areas: the current activities of the BNTU Institute of Science and Technology (class quality, staffing, and development plans); organizational issues related to the opening of a Faculty of Chinese Technologies; and preparations for the Summer School for undergraduate and graduate students of North-Eastern University at BNTU in 2026. Preliminary agreements were reached on all points, and further steps for the implementation of joint projects were identified.

The series of meetings continued with a meeting of the foreign delegation with Polytechnic University students. Students who had already attended the 2025 summer cultural camp, as well as those interested in attending in 2026, were invited to the event.

Timur Matyushinetz opened the meeting. He introduced the summer camp, highlighting the unique opportunity to participate, and introduced the international guests, including Sue Wei and Bao Nisha.

During the visit, Bao Nisha gave a presentation to the students, explaining in detail the project itself and how to participate. The students took the opportunity to directly ask all their questions to clarify details and learn more about the cultural exchange.

The results of the talks outlined a clear work plan for the near future. The launch of new institutes, the expansion of academic exchange, and direct communication with international partners create a powerful foundation for professional and cultural development for Polytechnic students and faculty across both countries.
