The "Science in Detail" project invites you to take a fascinating journey through time and see how the appearance of our capital has changed over the centuries. The open popular science lecture "City, Architecture, and Art. Images of Minsk through Different Eras" will take place on May 12 at 6:00 PM in the BNTU Scientific Library Coworking Space (16 Ya. Kolasa St., Room 203, 2nd Floor).
Minsk is a city with a remarkable history, whose appearance has been reshaped by reforms, revolutions, and social transformations over the centuries. Each era has left its mark in the layers of architectural styles, and these changes have been recorded not only by historical chronicles but also by the sensitive gaze of artists. Ancient architectural monuments and new neighborhoods, narrow streets and wide avenues, worn cobblestones and marble steps inspired artists to create works about Minsk.
During this lecture, we will explore the history of the Belarusian capital through the lens of art. We will trace the changing images of Minsk in painting and graphic art—from ancient engravings to the works of contemporary masters—and discuss the fate of iconic buildings and the evolution of the architectural landscape.
Admission to the event is free with advance registration.

On April 29, 2026, an expert seminar entitled "The ID SCIENCE Information and Analytical Internet Service for Science Management: New Functionality, Technical Capabilities, and Key Development Prospects" was held at the BNTU Scientific Library.
The event focused on current issues of managing publication activity, scientific evaluation of organizations, and ratings monitoring—key areas of work for modern university libraries.
The special guest and speaker was Arkady Vladimirovich Khalyukov, PhD in Philology and CEO of Pulse of Science (Moscow, Russian Federation). The expert presented the new capabilities of the ID SCIENCE service, discussed modern tools for publishing analytics, assessing the scientific potential of organizations, working with international and national rankings, and the prospects for implementing artificial intelligence technologies in scientometrics.
At the end of the meeting, Arkady Vladimirovich answered questions from the audience regarding the practical application of the service, evaluating publication performance, and the use of analytical tools in library work.

On May 4, 2026, the BNTU Lyceum presented the program "Glorious Daughters of the Belarusian Land" to students. During the event, the students learned about the lives and achievements of outstanding Belarusian women—from war heroines and partisans to modern-day scientists, doctors, educators, and cultural figures. Particular attention was paid to our contemporaries: Olympic champion Darya Domracheva, Belarus's first female cosmonaut, Marina Vasilevskaya, as well as outstanding figures in science and culture.
The students prepared thematic mini-projects and recited poems by classic and contemporary Belarusian poets dedicated to women.
The event took place in a warm, inspiring atmosphere and evoked a lively response from those present, reminding them of their deep respect and appreciation for Belarusian women's hard work, patience, and creative energy.

On April 28, 2026, a literary evening dedicated to frontline poets, "My Poetry, You're from the Trenches," was held for students living in BNTU Dormitory No. 3.
The title was chosen deliberately. It was precisely from the trenches, from the front lines, from besieged Leningrad, that the poems we know and remember to this day were born. Their authors weren't just poets. They were soldiers, scouts, nurses, and frontline correspondents. Alexander Tvardovsky, Yulia Drunina, Bulat Okudzhava, Semyon Gudzenko... Each of them fought in their own war and returned from the front not only with awards but also with notebooks of poetry.
Continuing this tradition of remembrance, on May 6, 2026, an event entitled "We Speak of the War in Poetry..." (from the creative legacy of poets who survived the Great Patriotic War) was held for students living in BNTU Dormitory No. 8.
During the literary meeting, students read poems by those who had to endure the horrors of war and retained the ability to speak of it poignantly, honestly, and without falsehood. Works by Konstantin Simonov, Alexander Tvardovsky, Olga Berggolts, Yulia Drunina, Mikhail Isakovsky, David Samoilov, and other authors whose youth was scorched by the fires of the Great Patriotic War were performed on stage. Belarusian poetry held a special place: students read poems by Pavlyuk Pranuza, Pimen Panchenko, Alexei Pysin, and Kastus Kireenko—poets whose lines, born in partisan dugouts and on the roads at the front, became the voice of an unconquered Belarus.

We present a new thematic exhibition, "Roads of War – Roads of Victory."
Every year, May 9th marks Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War—a holiday that has become a symbol of the indomitable will, courage, and unity of our people. This is a day when the pain of loss meets pride in the heroes who gave us a peaceful sky above.
The exhibition covers all the key stages of the Great Patriotic War: from the first defensive battles to the assault on Berlin. Each book is a step along the roads of war leading to the Great Victory.
