Today, on March 7, the Raubichi sports complex became a center of attraction for winter sports enthusiasts. As part of the annual republican winter sports and mass holiday "Belarusian Ski Race", the exciting republican competition "Minsk Ski Race 2026" was held here. Teams from the highest authorities, central offices of law enforcement ministries and agencies, as well as republican state administration bodies, took to the track to compete for the title of the strongest.
The spectators created a special festive atmosphere. The students of the Belarusian National Technical University provided powerful support to the athletes. Representatives of five faculties – the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME), the Faculty of Mechanical Technology (FMT), the Faculty of Mining and Engineering Ecology (FME), the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics (FITR), and the Faculty of Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship (FMME) – came to Raubichi to become part of a great sporting event.
A storm of emotions, the sound of skiing, and hot tea – this is how BNTU students will remember this weekend.
– An amazing organization! I am very pleased that the university has the opportunity to go to such large-scale launches. It's not just the support of athletes, but also a great boost of energy for the whole week," said Vladislav Senchenko, a student at FGDE.
The competition program included four races. The holiday was kicked off by a spectacular biathlon relay race among the teams of the highest authorities, where each of the four participants had to complete two laps and show accuracy on two firing lines.
The culmination of the day was the most massive race with the participation of teams from republican government agencies. The winners were determined in two categories. And here came an event that was met with special enthusiasm by the students of the technical university: the podium was conquered by the team of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
In a tense struggle among teams with more than a hundred members, the team of the Ministry of Education won the honorable 3rd place, losing to the teams of the Ministry of Taxes and Fees and the National Bank.
