Today, November 4, the 10th meeting of the working commission for the coordination of the Scientific and Educational Consortium between Higher Education Institutions and Research Institutes of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the Belarusian National Technical University.
Before the opening of the meeting, representatives of the Kazakh delegations were greeted in the best Belarusian traditions: with a musical performance by the ‘Kahanachka’ folk song ensemble and a bread and salt meal.



Following a warm welcome, the official part of the meeting began. BNTU Rector Sergei Kharytonchyk delivered a welcoming speech. Addressing his Kazakh colleagues, he expressed confidence that the meeting would provide a new impetus for the successful cooperation between universities of Kazakhstan and Belarus, which are already responding to the challenges of the times and following the directives of their heads of state.


Sergei Kharytonchyk's words were supported online by Erlan Sydykov, Rector of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, who highlighted the significant role of the consortium in the development of Belarusian and Kazakh higher education.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alexey Bogdanov, also participated in the opening of the meeting online. The Ambassador emphasized that for 10 years, the consortium has served as an effective platform for strengthening academic ties, implementing joint educational programs and research projects, and sharing experiences and best practices in higher education and science between the two friendly countries.

Yuri Cherkasov, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus, completed the series of welcome addresses. In his address, he stated that the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Belarus is ready to provide the necessary assistance to further strengthen and develop close ties between universities and research institutes of both countries.



The meeting participants then delivered reports. Sergey Kharytonchyk and Lyazzat Tolenkyzy, Vice-Rector for Social and Infrastructure Development at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, reported on the results of the implementation of the action plan for the Scientific and Educational Consortium between Higher Education Institutions and Research Institutes of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2025. During the meeting, the Vice-Rector also presented the BNTU Rector with a commemorative gift in honor of their fruitful cooperation.

In addition,on the agenda there were issues of the inclusion of new members-universities and research institutes from Belarus and Kazakhstan-in the consortium, as well as the signing of bilateral cooperation documents. These included:
