Today, on September 25, the Scientific and Technological Park of BNTU "Polytechnic" hosted the opening of training camps (ICPC Training camp), the purpose of which is to prepare students to participate in the stages of the World Programming Championship.
For reference: The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is one of the most prestigious and large–scale student team competitions in sports programming in the world.More than 52,000 of the best young programmers from more than 110 countries take part in it every year.
International training camps will be held in the Republic of Belarus on the basis of the Belarusian National Technical University in 2023. For their organization, the efforts of three leading universities of the country have been combined: the Belarusian State University (BSU), the Belarusian National Technical University and the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR).The partner of the event is Huawei Tech Company.
More than 150 students of Belarusian and foreign universities, including representatives of BSU, BNTU, BSUIR, Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala, as well as Azerbaijani, Georgian, Armenian and Kazakh universities are taking part in the training camp.
As project managers, employees of the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics greeted the guys. Dean of the Faculty Andrey Avsievich wished the students productive work and success.
The main information on organizational issues was announced by the head of the department "Software of information systems and Technologies" Yuri Polozkov.
The participants were congratulated by the creative teams of the BNTU Department of Cultural Affairs. The prepared performances filled the hall with solemnity and festive mood.
Representatives of the teams also spoke at the opening of the event. The guys thanked the organizers of the event and shared that they were looking forward to the moment when they could start solving the prepared tasks.
The training camps will last until October, 1. During this time, their participants will solve more than a dozen IT tasks, visit excursions, communicate with like-minded people and get acquainted with representatives of Huawei Tech Company LLC.All this will allow students to gain invaluable experience and high-quality training in order to adequately represent their higher education institution at the championship in the future.
