On March 19, Minsk hosted the Republican Swimming Tournament among employees of the education and science system. Competitions were held on the basis of the pool "Volna", located at st. Factory, 18. In which 32 athletes from 8 teams took part.
Medals were awarded in the individual and team competitions at distances of 50 m for women, 100 m for men and 4x50 freestyle mixed relay, in the age categories up to 35 years and over 35 years.

At the opening ceremony, the chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science Workers Tatyana Yakubovich made a parting speech, she stressed that the main task of such events is to bring together teachers from different regions of the country, communicate in an informal setting, diversify their working days and give them a sports holiday.

The team of higher education institutions of the city of Minsk included teachers-coaches of national swimming teams from different universities, the captain of the team - a participant in the Olympic Games Dmitry Koptur (BSEU) and Natalia Sarkisova (BSU). Successfully performed at these competitions and engineer of the Department of "Sport" of the Faculty of Sports and Technology Diana Lupenko, who twice climbed the podium

Diana confidently overcame the 50m freestyle sprint distance with a score of 31.53, winning 3rd place at this distance, and also took 3rd place in the 4 × 50m freestyle mixed relay as part of the team.

According to the results of the competition among the teams:
1st place - the national team of Minsk
2nd place - the national team of the Gomel region
3rd place - a team of institutions of higher education in Minsk


Women over 35 in the 50m freestyle
1st place - Tatyana Karanets, Minsk
2nd place - Sarkisova Natalia UVO
3rd place - Nadezhda Nigmatulina, Gomel region


Among women under 35 at a distance of 50 meters freestyle

1st place - Volskaya Ekaterina, Minsk
2nd place - Matusevich Tatyana Grodno region
3rd place - Lupenko Diana UVO

The BNTU team took part in a peat football tournament.
The 8th National Peat Football Tournament, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Belarusian energy system, was held on June 20, 2026, in the village of Pravdinsky, Pukhovichi District, at the Sergeevichskoye Peat Briquette Plant branch of the Mingaz State Unitary Enterprise. Twenty-seven teams participated, including some from Russia. A team of students and faculty from the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering and the Faculty of Power Engineering of the Belarusian National Technical University took to the peat fields. The peat football tournament is not only an exciting competition but also an opportunity to network with colleagues and meet like-minded individuals.
