Founded April 27, 1973 at the Faculty of Architecture of the BPI. Before 1986 the theater performed mainly in Minsk and across the republic. He received the title of "people's" in 1988.

In April 2005 at the city festival of folk art "Suzorye" he successfully confirmed the title of "folk" and received a Diploma of the 1st degree.
In 2010, the folk theater-studio "Colliseum" performed at the International Festival of Student Creativity "We Are Together" (Bryansk, Russia). In the STEM competition, the team was awarded a 2nd degree Diploma.
In 2011, at the International STEM Festival "Student Jokes" in Zaporozhye (Ukraine), he received a Diploma "For the best performance in the genre of" Pantomime "and a Diploma for the Best Actress".
In 2012 Folk Theater "Colliseum" at the International Festival of Student Creativity "Noisy booth +" in Bryansk (Russia) became the Laureate of the 3rd degree and received the Diploma "For the best male role".
In 2013 at the city festival of folk art "Suzor`e" for teams with the title of "folk" · the team successfully confirmed the title of "folk" and received a Diploma of III degree.
The Folk Theater-Studio "Colliseum" takes an active part in many events held by the UDC, the university, the district, the city.
Since 2015, the studio theater has been preparing an interesting production that promises to be exciting.
In 2016, director Viktor Georgievich Galynsky is working with new members of the theater, and much attention is also paid to the work on completing the production of the play "The Moth" based on the play by Pyotr Gladilin.
With the arrival of director Olga Vladimirovna Logvinenko, active work began with new members of the team on the system of preparing students for work on the stage, based on the experience of the masters of Russian stage art (K. Stanislavsky, V. Nemirovich-Danchenko, V. Meyerhold, M. Chekhov ), as well as classics of foreign art (T. Guerra, F. Fellini, K. Kislevsky, R. Bresson and others). The exercises and tasks of the system are aimed at the comprehensive development of the student's personality and require broad knowledge in the field of literature, music, sculpture, painting, and cinema.
The system includes work on stage speech, stage movement, as well as acting, where the theater participants gradually got acquainted with the ABC of the profession. Trainings, exercises were carried out, creative tasks were performed aimed at developing memory, attention, fantasy, imagination, imaginative thinking, as well as individual and group studies, observations, work with objects, and written assignments.
With the students of the main staff of the theater, work continues on the play. Along with rehearsals of actors and "puppet" scenes, the team is closely involved in scenography. Much attention is paid to the preparation of props, costumes and scenery, work is underway to manufacture a lighting console, laying lighting equipment for lighting effects, and sound equipment. Spotlights and speakers are installed. Having put together all the parts of the scenery, made decorative light for the performance, and also made a tablet for the puppets, the theater actors were able to complete the visual image of the performance and create the appropriate atmosphere.
The premiere of the performance "Moth" took place on March 1, after which the theater held several more shows, consolidating successful experience and working on mistakes.
On March 28, a performance was shown to confirm the title of "folk" within the framework of the city festival of folk art "Suzor'e" . The professional jury highly appreciated the work of the director and the team as a whole, and, following the results of the festival, the theater was awarded the Laureate Diploma. During the last months of the school year, the performance was seen by about 350 people.
Throughout the academic year, the team members took part in the projects of the agency "Territory of the Game": "Young Detectives", "Camp Legend", "School of Magic", acting as actors, artists and props. Introductory events were held: visiting professional theaters, watching films by famous filmmakers, visiting ART exhibitions and festivals. Each of these events ended with a general analysis and discussion of what was seen.
The team plans to participate in the International Theater Festival "Kufar" with the play "Moth", holding a creative evening dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the theater, participation in the events of the university and the city.
