It was established in November 1995. A regular participant in all concerts of the university, district and city.
1997 - a trip to Nizhny Novgorod (Russia) to the youth folklore and choreographic festival "We are building bridges".
2000-
2002 - Izhevsk (Russia, Udmurtia) - a concert for the Belarusians of Izhevsk, a performance in the Palace of Culture of Metallurgists at the 50th anniversary of Izhevsk State University, a performance for university athletes.
2003 - a trip to Turkey to cultural and sports festivals: numerous concerts and performances and participation in festive processions in Akchakoca and Alapli, as well as concerts in the cities of Bolu and Ereli.
2011 - at the open festival of arts "Shanuyu tsyabe, Belaya Rus", the folk song ensemble "Kakhanachka" became the Laureate of the 2nd degree.
In 2012, the soloist of the ensemble Mikhail Zhavrid became the laureate of the 2nd degree at the open competition for young performers "Crystal tuning fork".
In 2013 at the City Festival of Folk Art "Suzor'e" the team was awarded the Diploma of the Laureate.
In 2015, at the regional stage of the city competition of patriotic songs, the ensemble was awarded a Diploma of the 2nd degree.
In December 2015, the ensemble celebrated its 20th anniversary with a festive solo concert, where they presented the audience with polyphonic a capella songs, solo compositions, duets and quartets.·
In 2016, the team took part in the Republican review competition of artistic groups and individual performers of higher education institutions "Art Vakatsy", where they received a Diploma of the 1st degree.
The folk song ensemble "Kakhanachka" performs not only truly folk songs, but also songs in modern arrangements. The color of folk music and folk songs is an adornment of any holiday.
