Created in 1976. 1985 - assignment of the title of "folk", successfully confirmed at the city festival of folk art "Suzor'e".
For many years, the BNTU violin ensemble was the only amateur group of this direction in the republic on the basis of a technical university.
Over the years of its existence, the ensemble has given concerts in many cities: Yerevan, Riga, Lvov, Chisinau, Brest, Soligorsk, Grodno, Vitebsk, St. Petersburg, etc. The tradition of the ensemble has become a trip to the city of Brest to the student festival of amateur art "Brest Spring" , where the ensemble performs as guests of honor in front of students and teachers of the Brest Polytechnic Institute, for soldiers and officers of the border military units of Brest and the Brest region.
2004, within the framework of the city festival of folk art "Suzor'e", the team successfully confirmed the title of "folk".
In 2013 at the city festival of folk art "Suzor`e" for groups with the title of "folk" · the team successfully confirmed the title of "folk" and received the Loireate Diploma of the 1st degree.
In 2016, the violin ensemble celebrated its 40th anniversary with a festive concert program in a cozy and friendly atmosphere.
In 2017, within the framework of the Suzor'e festival, the violin ensemble successfully confirmed the title of "folk".
The folk ensemble of violinists is a participant in many events of our university, district and city.

Anniversary concert. The ensemble team gathers at lightning speed. Someone resorts directly from couples, someone instead of them. Dressing up in concert costumes, tuning instruments and the last rehearsal take place in a cheerful bustle. One rosin bow, the other collects the console, the third is trying to tie a bow tie. And another leader, trying to call the whole crowd to common sense. If you looked at it from the outside, you would hardly believe that students rushing back and forth with instruments in their hands are the BNTU Folk Violin Ensemble.
The Folk Ensemble of Violinists was founded in 1976. The founder and permanent leader until 2006 is Grigory Borisovich Gleikhengauz. The ensemble is the only amateur group of this direction in the republic on the basis of a technical university. The applause of grateful listeners: students and teachers, soldiers and officers, war and labor veterans sounded in the best halls of various cities of the world: Yerevan, Riga, Lvov, Chisinau, St. Petersburg, Brest, Grodno, etc.
In 1981, the ensemble won the Laureate Diploma at the All-Union Student Classical Music Festival in Yerevan. In the same year, he became a laureate and diploma winner of the 1st and 2nd degrees of the All-Union Review of Amateur Artistic Creativity. He also received a Diploma from the Bolshoi Academic Theater of the USSR. In 1988, the violin ensemble took part in the "Slavianski Bazaar" in Vitebsk.
And behind this proud and even slightly pretentious name we are ordinary students with a drop of talent and a sea of desire to play. Or vice versa. Perhaps that is why our rehearsals are so funny and interesting. The goal here is not only to achieve the perfect sound (although we can do it!), but also communication - communication with the music and with each other. How else? Present in one place 16 young talents (I'm not afraid of this word). And everyone has their own problems and experiences that are not always possible to leave behind the threshold. Just music is not enough here. The head of the ensemble is a psychologist and directly the musical director of the ensemble. She selects a diverse repertoire: classical and modern works by Belarusian and foreign authors, everything that the soul of the viewer desires. Here is the "Swan" by Saint Sans, and "Feeling" by Goya, and "Kumparisita" by Rodriguez, and "Polonaise" by Oginsky and "Romance" by Shostakovich and much, much more. The repertoire is constantly changing and updating, so that neither we nor the listeners have time to get bored. Constant participation in various concerts, competitions, festivals also obliges this. at the city festival of folk art "Suzor`e" the team successfully confirmed the title of "folk" and received the Loireate Diploma of the 1st degree. In 2017, the violin ensemble successfully confirmed the title of "folk".
What about the future? Definitely in rainbow colors! Moreover, the past was crowned with successes and victories. It is difficult to imagine how many students have played in the ensemble for 40 years. However, every year new people come, the repertoire changes, but the ensemble does not suffer from this at all, but rather, on the contrary, wins. His listener also wins, and this, as you know, is the most important thing for a musician!
