In the Department of Cultural Affairs, ideological and educational work with young people is carried out in accordance with the main directions of the state policy of the Republic of Belarus, legal acts of the Republic of Belarus on issues of ideology and education.
The UDC conducts purposeful work on the formation of student youth citizenship, patriotism, national identity based on state ideology, readiness for work for the benefit of the Republic of Belarus. One of the main tasks of the management is to create conditions for the socialization of students, development and realization of their creative potential.
Every year, the Department of Cultural Affairs organizes and conducts a number of significant cultural events.
Traditionally, the academic year begins with the solemn line "Freshman of BNTU".More than three thousand first-year students, teachers and employees of the university become participants in the event. For first-year students, a new stage of their life begins - the stage of students, on which they are congratulated by the rector of the university and guests of honor - scientists and educators, heads of large enterprises and organizations of the Republic of Belarus. As part of the event, students get acquainted with the activities of the trade union committee, student self-government bodies and primary organizations of republican public associations, as well as receive information about the work of sports clubs and sections of the STF, creative teams of the department for cultural affairs. One of the traditions of the line, which has an important civil and patriotic significance, is the ceremony of laying flowers at the stele to the fallen teachers and students of BNTU during the Second World War. Every year the creative groups of the UDC present their concert programs as part of the celebration of the Day of the City of Minsk and the Day of National Unity . Creative performances are held not only on the territory of the university, but also at the concert venues of the Soviet district and the student village. The concert program “We are together!” has become traditional in BNTU. dedicated to the Day of National Unity.
Once every two years, the university hosts the festival "Belarus - geta we" - a modern brand of national traditional culture at BNTU. Within the framework of the festival, meetings of representatives of the Union of Writers of Belarus with members of the literary association "Polistikh" are held. All faculties of the university take part in the competition of creative programs. Each team presents theatrical competitive programs in the Belarusian language, choreographic sketches, rituals and songs. Based on the results of the festival, the jury determines the winners, as well as a number of special nominations.
Also, UDC creative teams take part in festive programs dedicated to professional military holidays: Engineering Troops Day, Tanker Day, Motorized Riflemen Day , etc. Traditionally, a large concert program dedicated to the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus is organized for cadets and officers of the WTF .
In May, on the eve of the celebration of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, the BNTU hosts a military-patriotic song contest "Memory of the Heart" , in which all the faculties of the university take part. Since 2020, a poetic online flash mob "Autographs of Victory" has been held . Flash mob participants (students, graduates and employees of BNTU) post videos on social networks in which they read poems or excerpts from works about the war. Traditionally, BNTU organizes and conducts a rally and a flower-laying ceremony at the stele for employees, students and teachers of BNTU who died during the Second World War . For the first time in 2021, a youth flash mob “Dedicated to the Great Victory…» with the participation of 20 pairs of BNTU students and members of the UDC creative teams. Every year dance couples from BNTU take part in the district flash mob "Victory Waltz ".
In 2022, for the first time in our country, from October 17 to 21, the Republican Week of Parental Love was announced, which combined two holidays, Mother's Day and Father's Day. A number of cultural events were organized and held at the university. The festive week ended with the concert program "Family Warmed by Love".
Creative teams of the UDC take part in the Republican Festival of Artistic Creativity of Students and Students "ART Vakatsy".
According to the results of the Republican festival of artistic creativity of pupils and students "ART-vacations - 2022", the team of the Department of Cultural Affairs of the BNTU was awarded the Grand Prix.
Every year, the UDC holds a number of significant events together with the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and Belaya Rus.
