Legal dialogue. BNTU hosted a meeting with the prosecutor of the Sovetsky district of Minsk

Прокурор Советского района Минска провел в БНТУ личный прием граждан. Какие вопросы поднимались?

Today, on August 13, at the Belarusian National Technical University, the prosecutor of the Sovetsky district of Minsk, Senior Adviser to Justice Anton Zagorovsky, conducted a personal reception for citizens. During the meeting, the newcomers had a unique opportunity to ask legal questions of concern.

So, the participants discussed a large number of topics. Anton Zagorovsky provided explanations on the substance of the questions raised regarding patriotic education, anti-corruption and the preservation of historical memory.

One of the questions raised by those present included the possibility of organizing trips with students to mass graves of civilians and prisoners of war, as was the case earlier in 2023. Then the students managed to visit the burial site near the Uruchye tract. The prosecutor explained that such visits are important for the patriotic education of young people, but they are possible only if new graves are discovered during investigative actions. At the moment, there are no such finds, but as soon as they are discovered, the relevant work will be organized.

Also during the reception, the issue of resuming the video contest "Heirs of the Great Victory", which was organized a year ago by the BNTU jointly with the Prosecutor's office of the Sovetsky district of Minsk, was raised. Last year, the competition aroused great interest among students, and its winners were awarded at a ceremony attended by the prosecutor. Anton Zagorovsky praised this initiative and expressed his willingness to support the contest in the future.

The issues of crime prevention have not been ignored either. The meeting participants discussed the possibility of holding dialogue platforms dedicated to combating corruption and genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, involving university staff and students. The prosecutor supported this proposal, and also suggested various forms for joint work in these areas.

Another question was devoted to the topic of preserving historical memory. The university has been hosting a thematic exhibition dedicated to these tragic pages of history for more than a year. During this time, it was visited by over 4 thousand people. Representatives of the BNTU expressed interest in expanding the exposition in order to demonstrate even more clearly the scale of crimes of that time.

The meeting allowed all applicants to receive qualified legal assistance. The participants received not only consultations, but also identified areas for further cooperation.

We thank Anton Zagorovsky for his openness, detailed explanations and attention to the issues of concern to the participants of the meeting.
