Today, on March 20, the Dipservice Hall concert hall hosted a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners and laureates of the Import Substitution competition organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus. According to the results of the 2025 activities, the title of "Manufacturer of the Year" was awarded to the Politekhnik Scientific and Technological Park of the Belarusian National Technical University.
This recognition was a natural outcome of the team's daily efforts aimed at developing high-tech production, introducing innovative developments, and strengthening the country's technological sovereignty.
The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, Yury Chebotar, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of developing domestic production and the role of such enterprises in ensuring the independence of the national economy.
“I have come to the conclusion that import substitution itself has changed over time. We started with a production story, making a product or a part and putting it on the assembly line. Today, we believe that this has become a lifestyle for most of our enterprises. This is probably a strategic benefit for the country, as enterprises understand that import substitution is about technological sovereignty and self-sufficiency,” said Yuri Adamovich.
The victory in the Import Substitution competition was an important milestone in the technopark's activities, which, according to the management, motivates them to continue creating products that are worthy of the "Quality Recognition" label. Immediately after the award ceremony, Georgy Vershina, the General Director of the BNTU Polytechnic Research and Technology Park, shared his impressions.
"We were doing our part to serve our country. BNTU has the potential to accomplish such tasks, but it requires an organized force. BNTU has the necessary organizational strength to tackle any challenge." Everything that is being done now is just one element. We have much more opportunities, and the country will definitely see that the Polytechnic University is doing its job competently, intelligently, and for many years to come.
The fact that a new generation of researchers is behind the high production rates adds to the value of the victory.
“All of this is being done by our young scientists, master's students, and postgraduate students, and it is their achievement, while we, the older generation, are helping them,” added Georgy Alexandrovich.
For the Politekhnik Scientific and Technological Park, the title of "Manufacturer of the Year" has become a starting point for implementing new ambitious projects aimed at further developing the country's high-tech sector.
