Today, on January 5, the Belarusian National Technical University launched a career guidance event "Holidays at BNTU" and more than 250 participants have already registered this year.
For reference: the event is held annually during the school autumn and winter holidays in order to provide vocational guidance to applicants. Excursions and master classes for the participants are organized and held in the buildings of the faculties.
After registration, the participants went to the assembly hall of the main building where they saw an interactive presentation about the history of BNTU, students life as well as about faculties and the proposed professions.

The first Vice-rector of BNTU Georgy Vershina made a welcoming speech. He told about the educational process at the faculties and wished the pupils productive work at lectures and master classes.
– Hello, dear future students, parents, our guests, the press! I want to wish you Merry Christmas, happiness, kindness and respect! It's nice to meet you on the eve of this holiday.
Our graduates are valued all over the world, recognized everywhere, in all structures. There is not a single enterprise in the country where a BNTU graduate works. In total, over the years of its existence, more than 210,000 belarusian students and more than 10,000 foreigners graduated from our university. Today we have a full range of educational services except a kindergarten. A lyceum, colleges, university, master's degree, postgraduate studies, doctoral studies and advanced training – all of these are BNTU.
Georgy Alexandrovich also highlighted new areas of study. For example, the field of unmanned technologies is actively developing at the Faculty of Automotive Engineering, i.e. applicants who will enter the automotive industry in 2023/24 academic year will be engaged in developments related to unmanned vehicles.
Then the applicants together with their accompanying staff went to the workshops of the selected areas: economic, engineering or architectural. The participants were told about the faculty and eventful student life at one of the workshops – "Sharks of Business", which took place in the academic building of the Faculty of Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship.
– The specialties of the faculty are in demand and require creativity, so the graduates will have not only theoretical economic and engineering knowledge, but creative skills too – said one of the speakers.
A small interactive was also held with the applicants. Its essence was to develop ideas related to the stylization and innovative use of a mug.
Within the framework of economics the Department of Engineering Economics of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering presented the workshop "I’m an economist".
The engineering profile included the excursions of the Faculty of Power Plant Construction and Engineering Services and also of the Scientific and Technological Park of BNTU "Polytechnic", as well as the workshop in mechatronics, automatics and robotechnics.
The architectural profile included the workshops in industrial design and "Creativity" entrance tests.

We hope that the applicants enjoyed the workshops and the excursions. We are waiting for the participants of the event in the new academic year as students of BNTU where they will be able to get fundamental knowledge in their specialties and discover their sporting and creative potential.
