From October 5 to 8, 2022, the sports base of the Volgograd State Academy of Physical Culture hosted the All-Union State Sports Games among student youth in athletics, swimming, mini-football and darts. 270 students aged 18-21 from various regions of Belarus and Russia took part in them.
Belarus was represented at these competitions by 9 universities from four regions of our country: BSUFC, BNTU, BSU, GrSU named after J. Kupally, BGUIR, VitSTU, GrGAU, BSUT, Moscow State University. The Russian team at the Spartakiad was represented by teams from the Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk and Rostov regions, Moscow, the Republic of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan.
"The Sports Games of the Union State for children and youth is an annual complex event in the field of physical culture and sports. It has been held since 2003 and consists of four stages - two in Russia, two in Belarus.
This year, it was held for the 19th time and included four Spartakiads: schoolchildren "Olympic Hopes" (Pskov, Russian Federation); Russian and Belarusian schoolchildren living in rural areas (Grodno, Republic of Belarus); student youth "We choose sports!" (Volgograd, Russian Federation); students of professional educational organizations and institutions of vocational and technical and secondary special education (city of Brest, Republic of Belarus)".
Solemn opening ceremony of the Sports Games of the Union State among student youth "We choose sports!" in Volgograd, it was held on the Mamayev Kurgan in front of the Hall of Military Glory.
The swimming competition program included the following distances: 100 m freestyle; 100 m backstroke; 100 m breaststroke; 200 m individual swimming; mixed relay 4x100 m freestyle (1, 3 stages – girls, 2, 4 stages – boys). The team consists of 8 people (4 boys, 4 girls). Each participant must participate in three disciplines (two types of choice, 200 m individual swimming) and a relay.
The BNTU team was represented by:
1. Evgeny Busov (FTUG) – master of sports;
2. Daniil Labkovich (FTUG) – candidate for master of sports;
3. Petrushenko Matvey (MTF) – master of sports;
4. Dudal Gleb (STF) – master of sports;
5. Prozorova Milana (FGDE) – candidate for master of sports;
6. Ekaterina Makarova (FTUG) – master of sports;
7. Sergievich Anna (SF) – candidate for master of sports;
8. Bohdanova Aleksandra (FES) – candidate for master of sports.
As a result, it was contested:
Yevgeny Busov (FTUG): 100 m freestyle (50.66) – 1st place, 100 m breaststroke (1:04.78) – 2nd place, 200 m medley (2:04.97) – 1st place. Yevgeny swam this distance according to the standards of the master of sports of Russia.
Matvey Petrushenko (MTF) – 100 m backstroke (58.34) – 1st place.
Ekaterina Makarova (FTUG) – 100 m backstroke (1:06.31) – 3rd place.
The team of BNTU in the mixed relay 4x100 m freestyle consisted of: Ekaterina Makarova (FTUG) – 1:02.15, Petrushenko Matvei (MTF) – 53.57, Prozorova Milana (FGDE) – 1:03.60 and Evgeny Busov (FTUG) – 50.28 with a result of 3 :49.60 in a hard-fought 46 hundredths ahead of the team of the Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism and took 3rd place.
In the team championship:
1st place – Belarusian State University of Physical Culture (178 points)
2nd place – Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism (250 points)
3rd place – Belarusian National Technical University (259 points)
In addition to the competition, the organizers prepared a cultural program for the athletes: sightseeing tours of Volgograd, a visit to the memorial complex dedicated to the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad on the Mamayev Kurgan, the panoramic museum "Battle of Stalingrad", a meeting with three-time Olympic swimming champion Yevgeny Sadov and Olympic weightlifting champion Alexei Petrov.
A bright event for our guys was a visit to a unique sports training base - the swimming complex "Iskra", which is the most modern and equipped training center of the All-Russian Swimming Federation, where the selection and preparation of the sports reserve for the Russian national swimming teams takes place.
The tour was led by a unique person in the world of swimming, Viktor Borisovich AVDIENKO - Honored coach of the USSR and Russia, coach of multiple Olympic champions D. Pankratov and E. Sadovoy, etc., first vice-president, sports director of the All-Russian Swimming Federation, president of the Volgograd Region Swimming Federation , the best swimming coach of the world (1992-1996), the best coach of Russia (1993), the creator and head of the Iskra swimming complex.
Athletes and coaches familiarized themselves with the equipment of the complex, which includes: two 50-meter swimming pools (open and closed), a 25-meter outdoor pool, pools for elementary training, a pool for babies, hydrochannel, sports halls for functional and strength training of swimmers, saunas, a hotel on the territory of the complex, the equipment of the offices of the complex scientific group, food stations for athletes, a store of sports clothes and equipment, etc.
