The Department of Commercial and Advertising Equipment was established within the Faculty of Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship in May 2007. Currently, the department is led by Associate Professor Alexey Igorovich Ermakov, PhD.
The department offers education in two primary specialties at the bachelor's level: "Commercial Equipment and Technologies" and "Production of Exhibition and Advertising Objects," both leading to the qualification of Engineer. The curriculum encompasses social-humanitarian, natural science, general professional, and specialized disciplines, along with in-depth studies of foreign languages. In the final stages of their studies, students gain knowledge in equipment calculation, design, manufacturing technology, and installation. To enhance practical training, the faculty established a 3D modeling and prototyping laboratory.
During summer internships, students gain practical experience at enterprises such as Torgtekhnika OJSC , Computer Cash Systems LLC , Minskreklama State Enterprise among others.
Since 2013, the department has offered master's degree programs in "Innovative Technologies in Mechanical Engineering," available in both full-time and part-time formats. Graduates earn the academic degree of Master of Technical Sciences. Since 2015, a branch of the department has operated at LLC "Computer Cash Systems."
The teaching staff comprises 15 members, including one Doctor of Technical Sciences, two PhD holders in Technical Sciences, one PhD holder in Pedagogical Sciences, and three educational support staff. Over the past year, the department faculty has published over 120 printed works, including three patents from the Republic of Belarus, 15 articles in domestic and international scientific journals, and seven educational and methodological publications.
The main directions of the department's research activities include developing new designs of vending machines, optimizing the construction and expanding the applications of 3D printers, improving methods and devices for presenting advertising information, creating new instruments and systems for monitoring the quality of advertising structures, developing methods and mechanisms for the food industry, precision machine and instrument making technology, and ultrasonic, ionoplasmic, and laser methods to enhance product quality.
Deep technical and manufacturing knowledge enables graduates of the department to work at enterprises involved in manufacturing, production, and servicing of modern technical advertising tools. Unlike most technical specialties, graduates are required to study two foreign languages: English (mandatory) and either German, French, Italian, or Spanish (optional). The department has established a creative advertising laboratory where students actively participate in various projects during their studies.
The specialization in "Commercial Equipment and Technologies" is unique in Belarus and is exclusively offered at the Faculty of Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship. Graduates acquire extensive knowledge in engineering, economics, and design. The faculty maintains strong connections with major equipment manufacturers, providing students with practical skills in their field even during their education.
Upon completion of their diploma projects, graduates are awarded the qualification of Engineer. Most disciplines are taught using computer, multimedia, and office equipment. Students have access to university and faculty libraries, and the capabilities of the electronic library are continually expanding. Significant attention is devoted to unleashing students' creative potential through participation in the department's research activities.
Industrial practice is an integral part of the educational process for both specialties. The department's organized educational and pre-diploma practice aims to combine high-quality theoretical and practical training, fostering students' professional practical knowledge essential for future work in enterprises.
