Today, November 27, the 12th Belarusian-Chinese Youth Innovation Forum "New Horizons – 2025" was held at the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park.
For reference: The forum has been held since 2014 with the aim of developing cooperation between students and young scientists from Belarus and China in the creation and commercialization of research and development results, as well as the mutual enrichment of national cultures. The organizers are the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian National Technical University, Northeastern University, the BNTU Confucius Institute for Science and Technology, and the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park.

Tatiana Stolyarova addressed the audience with a welcoming speech:
– For many participants, the current forum is a new step in career development, new experience, discovery of new opportunities, new contacts, and for some, overcoming the boundaries. For us, the organizers of the forum, this is an investment in the future, in the joint construction of an innovation station, a new scientific and technological community. This year has been marked by a number of important events in the development of our relations between Belarus and China, and scientific, technical and innovative development is one of the main priorities.
Yang Jianke also delivered a speech, noting that young scientists are the new force behind scientific and technological innovation.
– Science and technology are the first productive force. Talents are the first resource, and innovation is the first driving force. And young scientists, scientific talents, are a new force for scientific and technological innovation. The Innovation Forum will become a key platform for our youth, which will play an important role in promoting scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries and the practical application of its results.
In her speech, Anna Adamovich drew attention to the fact that we live in an era of rapid change, where science and technology determine our future.
Georgy Vershina shared with the forum participants that, in his opinion, the XII Belarusian-Chinese Youth Innovation Forum "New Horizons – 2025" will discuss topical issues of science and innovation, and the initiative of the participants will help solve these problems in practice.
Li Wenxue, in turn, explained the topic of the forum and why this area was chosen.
– Young friends, you are the main driving force in exploring new horizons. The theme of the current forum is innovation, and the program includes five thematic sessions. All this is designed so that you can generate new ideas in creative discussions, and open up new perspectives for your own implementation.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Vladimir Kleenkov thanked the participants and organizers of the forum for their annual participation. He also wished that after the completion of the XII Belarusian-Chinese Youth Innovation Forum "New Horizons – 2025" he would not stop sharing his ideas and developments, thereby actively developing international cooperation between the two countries.
The work of the forum continued in five thematic sections, which turned into real centers of international dialogue between Belarusian students and their foreign colleagues.
In the section "Architecture, Construction, Ecology, Energy – new solutions", led by Nadezhda Popkova, Deputy General Director of the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park, the participants immersed themselves in a comprehensive discussion of future technologies. The discussion covered both modern trends in green energy and ecological construction, as well as historical analysis.
Of particular interest was the presentation by Mikhail Kitaev, senior lecturer at the Department of Theory and History of Architecture at BNTU, who presented an analysis of the architecture of manor complexes and revealed their evolution as a reflection of cultural and social transformations in Belarus in the second half of the 19th – early 20th century, drawing parallels with modern principles of sustainable development of territories.
The atmosphere of a real scientific laboratory prevailed at the section "Production technologies, new materials and Engineering", which was moderated by Dmitry Chernobai, a leading engineer at UTOIO and an engineer at the CIT BNTU. The participants did not just exchange results, but demonstrated specific engineering solutions and test methods. A vivid example of a practice-oriented approach was the report of Daniil Lazarevich, a first-year student at BNTU, where he presented in detail exactly how laser treatment modifies the structure of plasma ceramic coatings, significantly increasing their wear resistance.
The section "Innovations in Medicine, Biomechanics, and Veterinary Medicine" became a platform for discussing breakthrough diagnostic and treatment techniques. Valeria Yakovleva, a student at BSU, did not just mention SNVs in the context of acute myeloid leukemia, but presented a comprehensive analysis of their diagnostic significance and potential role in the development of personalized therapeutic strategies.
The section "Cultural and economic cooperation as the basis of the humanitarian dialogue between Belarus and China", moderated by Vladimir Ivanov, manager, specialist of the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology at BNTU, focused on practical aspects of partnership. Alexandra Momotyuk, a student at Polessky State University, analyzed the key success factors in cooperation with Chinese companies in a structured manner, highlighting not only economic but also cross-cultural aspects, such as business communication, building long–term relationships and project management in different business traditions.
The IT Technologies and Artificial Intelligence section, led by Tatiana Malyshko, an employee of the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park, proved that IT is not only a code, but also the art of presenting information. Tamara Smolikova, a student at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, presented not just the rules of composition, but a systematic approach to visual storytelling, demonstrating in specific cases how the correct arrangement of graphic elements increases the persuasiveness and memorability of a scientific presentation, which is important for any researcher.
The forum is a dialogue between young scientists from different countries, which has given a powerful impetus to the development of science and international cooperation. We thank the participants and organizers and look forward to new meetings with colleagues from China.
