Congratulations of the Rector of BNTU on Belarusian Science Day

Dear teachers, students, master students, postgraduates of the Belarusian National Technical University! Dear colleagues! Please accept sincerest congratulations on Belarusian Science Day! Today, as ever, science is the main driving force of scientific and technical progress, the most important component of the national wealth, a powerful resource for the development of the economy and all spheres of the Republic of Belarus and our scientists are the elite of the Belarusian society and the country's heritage.

Summing up the results of 2022, we can say with confidence that the scientists of our university make worthwhile contributions to the development of national science. The Belarusian National Technical University has successfully increased  scientific and educational potential, continued the development of innovative activities, expanded international relations and improved the material and technical base. Our joint achievements in 2022 include the following events :

1. The Belarusian National Technical University has become the first university in the Republic of Belarus, which adopted the Intellectual Property Policy of the university and approved it in March, 2022.
2. The university has hosted more than 30 exhibitions and conferences in 2022.The XI Forum "Technological integration" was held by universities of the engineering and technological profile of the Union State, where scientific discussions, business battles and plenary sessions were organized on innovative platforms. The forum was attended by representatives of higher education institutions, scientific organizations, industrial enterprises and organizations of Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan. It should be emphasized that the forum has already been included in the list of permanent events of the Union State since 2023.
3.  "Prospects of Eurasian economic integration" forum,dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eurasian Economic Commission with broad international participation, was held within the framework of the 18th International Scientific Seminar "World Economy and Business Administration" on the basis of  BNTU .
4.  Head of the department “ Material Science in Mechanical Engineering”  Professor Valery Mikhailovich Konstantinov received grant from the President of the Republic of Belarus in the field of science for 2023.Young scientists of BNTU are Associate Professor Yulia Viktorovna Meleshko, senior teachers Yulia Aleksandrovna Medvedeva, Vyacheslav Andreevich Khudyakov awarded scholarships of the President of the Republic of Belarus for 2023.
5. Daniil Rustamovich Huseynov, engineer of the branch laboratory of sports biomechanics has won the first place in the nomination "The best youth innovation project" for the development of an intelligent simulator for teaching the technique of skiing movements  in the Republican contest of innovative projects of 2022. In the same nomination, junior researcher of the Innovation and production Center of medical equipment and products  Vladislav Vladimirovich Gavrilenko got the second place for the development of a device for vacuum therapy of wounds "Impulse KM-1".
6. Graduate from BNTU Instrument Engineering Department, assistant professor of "Micro and nano technics" BNTU  Vasilina Lapitskaya, who has defended the thesis for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in 2022, who has awarded the title of laureate of the Academician Zh. I. Alferov by the decision of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences in  Belarus.
7. A solemn ceremony of awarding the laureates of the XXVIII Republican contest of scientific works of students was held at BNTU. The authors of seven scientific works were awarded laureates. Senior teacher of "Economics and Energy Management" Department of the Faculty of Energy Ekaterina Korsak  awarded an honorary diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
8.  Throughout the year about 150 scientific research works within the frameworks of the State programs of scientific research at BNTU were carried out. 5790 students and undergraduates worked hard on them.

We have something to be proud of on the world stage. The Repository of Belarusian National Technical University is ranked 33rd in the world ranking of repositories “Transparent Ranking of Repositories” in the edition for June 2022. The general list of “All Repositories” includes 4673 repositories, electronic archives and electronic libraries. The Repository of  BNTU is located on the 23rd place among 4508 other resources in the list of Institutional Repositories. Repository of BNTU remains the second in the ranking of repositories among the post-Soviet states.

The Belarusian National Technical University together with Pskov State University has become the winner of the federal project "Advanced engineering schools" of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. In total, the competition was attended by  89 Russian universities, but advanced engineering schools will appear at the sites of  only 30 universities. It should be mentioned that the project of Pskov State University and BNTU became the only joint Belarusian-Russian project.

Our university has a powerful scientific potential, which consists of many components: departments, institutes, centers, and a modern scientific library. However, our treasures are our professors, teachers, students, undergraduates, postgraduates and young scientists. Thanks to your tireless activity, striving for innovation, creative search, and the introduction of progressive ideas, our university is successfully developing the most promising areas in science, developing the latest technologies, sets and successfully solving new scientific and technical tasks.

Understanding the importance of research and scientific works within not only our university, but also the country as a whole, we always strive, support the creative initiative of talented employees, because they are the hope of domestic science and are involved in creating the future of our country.

I am convinced that our scientists, thanks to their dedication to science, boundless work and creative inspiration,  will continue to contribute to the preservation and development of scientific potential at the Belarusian National Technical University. I sincerely thank you for your contribution to domestic science  and world science, dedication to the chosen cause and fruitful intellectual work! I sincerely wish you good health, inexhaustible energy, bright scientific discoveries, brilliant victories and well-deserved awards!
