On December 7-10, the Open Short Course Swimming Championship of Belarus was held in Brest. Ten students of our university took part in these competitions: Arseniy Borzhakov (FTUG), Evgeny Busov (FTUG), Daniil Labkovich (FTUG), Ekaterina Makarova (FTUG), Maxim Krepsky (ATF), Dmitry Shulga (PSF), Yan Glushkov (SF ), Nikita Filippovich (FMMP), Nikita Zhgunovsky (FMMP), Matvey Petrushenko (MTF). In total, our students from 18 personal distances swam 13 times in the final heats. The leaders of the BNTU swimming team in freestyle, butterfly and backstroke individual heats won eight medals: one gold, four silver and three bronze medals, and were also among the teams in relay races.
Arseniy Borzhakov (FTUG) - 100m butterfly - 1st place, 50m butterfly - 3rd place, as part of the Minsk team: relay races 4x50m freestyle - 1st place, 4x50 complex - 1st place.
Evgeny Busov (FTUG) - 100m freestyle - 2nd place, 200m freestyle - 2nd place, 0.36 seconds behind the first place; 100m complex - 2nd place, as part of the team of the Minsk region: relay races 4x50 complex - 3rd place, 4x100 complex - 3rd place.
Dmitry Shulga (PSF) - 50 m freestyle - 3rd place, and Dmitry was in the lead the entire distance of 50 meters, but at the finish line he did not hit a clear touch of the side of the pool and became only third, losing 0.04 seconds to the first place; 100m freestyle - 3rd place.
Maxim Krepsky (ATF) - 50m backstroke - 2nd place, 100m backstroke - 4th place.
Yan Glushkov (SF) - as part of the Minsk region team, he took two 3rd places in the 4x50m and 4x100m medley relays. 50 spins - 4th place.
According to the results of the performances, Evgeny Busov and Dmitry Shulga set personal records by swimming 50 m, 100 m and 200 m freestyle according to their best results.
