From March 15 to March 18, 2022, the final competitions of the Republican Universiade 2021 in weightlifting were held in the weightlifting gym on the basis of the Minsk Central Sports School of Trade Unions “Spartak”, in which 75 weightlifters from 10 teams from higher education institutions took part.
The jury included: Shariy Valery Petrovich - champion of the 1976 Olympic Games, world and European champion, champion of the USSR, winner of two Spartakiads of the peoples of the USSR, as well as Rafail Lvovich Belenkov - two-time champion of the USSR, European champion, two-time world record holder in bench press, master of sports USSR international class.
According to the results of the team competition:
I place - Belarusian National Technical University (222 points).
II place - educational institution "Belarusian State University of Physical Culture" (216 points);
III place - educational institution "Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University" (169 points).
Weightlifting competitions are held in 10 weight categories and include two exercises: snatch and clean and jerk. Each athlete, based on the results of performances, scores points in each exercise, which are then summed up for the overall standings. The winners are determined in the individual championship and the team event among the UVO.
Our team included: 3 masters of sports of international class, 3 masters of sports, participant of the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, graduate of the STF-2022 Evgeny Tikhontsov, 5 members of the national weightlifting team of the Republic of Belarus (E. Zezyulin, S. Garanin, E. Tikhontsov, A. Yashkin, N. Belyavsky).

The winners of the Republican Universiade - 2021 in weightlifting were awarded certificates, medals, the winners - cash prizes. Our winning team received their well-deserved trophy.
The Belarusian Association of Student Sports presented the prize to Eduard Zezyulin for "For the Will to Win".
