Scientific and review articles are accepted for publication. The authors of articles can be teachers, researchers, doctoral students, graduate students, applicants, undergraduates.
Rules for the design of articles
The material of the article should correspond to the profile of the collection and be presented as clearly as possible.
The article must be carefully edited and submitted in paper and electronic form.
The volume of the article should contain 8-20 pages of text, including graphic materials (no more than 8 figures) and tables.
The text of the article is presented in the following sequence:
- the UDC index is indicated in the upper left corner;
- article title;
- initials and surname of the authors, indicating the academic degree and place of work; abstract (up to 5-10 lines), which reflects the idea of the subject of research and the results of the article; keywords (5-6 words) (these materials are presented in Russian and English);
- introduction, main text; conclusion (conclusions); bibliography.
The introduction should or may contain a brief overview of the problem, the formulation and purpose of the research. In the main part, the results of the research are presented (it is possible to divide into subsections with a presentation of the research methodology, analysis of the results, etc.). In the conclusion (conclusions), the main results obtained are formulated, including. indicating their novelty, advantages over previously obtained data. Drawings must have a clear outline of all lines, numbers and symbols, photographs - a contrasting image. Photos and drawings are submitted in electronic form (in jpg, tif format) and are accompanied by figure captions. Figures, graphs and tables are located in the text of the article after the first mention of them, in addition, they are presented as separate files on electronic media. Formulas must be typed in the Microsoft Equation 3.0 editor. Character sizes: regular - 11 pt, index - 8 pt, small index - 7 pt, symbol - 13 pt, small symbol - 11 pt. Letters (uppercase and lowercase) of the Latin alphabet and physical and mathematical quantities are typed in italics. Russian, Greek letters and integral expressions (for example, cos, sin, log, ln, min, max) are typed in roman type. The list of references should be compiled in the order of citation in the text. It is drawn up in accordance with the Instructions for the preparation of a dissertation, abstract and publications on the topic of the dissertation, approved by the decision of the Presidium of the State Higher Attestation Committee of the Republic of Belarus on December 24, 1997 No. 178 (as amended by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of Belarus dated February 22, 2006 No. 2) and is located at the end of the article, references are numbered according to the order of citation in the text. Reference numbers in the text should be written inside square brackets. The bibliographic list should be submitted with the obligatory inclusion of sources no later than 2000. The article should be typed using the Microsoft Word 2007/2010 text editor, Times New Roman font 11-14 pt, single line spacing.
In the text and formulas of the article, Greek letters are indicated in plain text, Latin letters in italics, Russian letters in plain text.
Page settings:
Margins: top - 1.8 cm, bottom - 2.2 cm, left - 1.7 cm, right - 1.7 cm.
Physical symbols and designations must be given in the International System of Units (SI).
In the text of the article, abbreviated words should not be used, except for generally accepted ones; when using an abbreviation, it is necessary to give its decoding at the first link to it.
The text of the article must be signed by all authors.
On a separate page, the authors provide the following information about themselves: full name, home and business address, academic degree and title, place of work, email address, phone number.
The procedure for accepting articles
Articles received by the editors of the journal are registered in the prescribed manner. Accepted articles are checked for plagiarism and reviewed. With a positive review, the article is proposed for publication.
Articles that do not meet the above requirements for publication will not be accepted for consideration.
The manuscript of the article must be accompanied by an act of examination of the organization or institution in which the work was performed, indicating the possibility of publishing the materials of the article in the open press and an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the department (unit).
Foreign citizens must submit, along with the article, a cover letter on the official letterhead (with details) from the rector / vice-rector for science of their university or research institution. In other cases, the decision to accept the article is made by the editorial board of the journal.
Authors are responsible for sending to the editorial office articles previously published or accepted for publication by other publications.
Authors are not charged for the publication of articles, and authors are not paid royalties.
The editors reserve the right to make changes to the rules for the design of articles in connection with the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus and the decisions of the editorial board of the journal.
Review procedure
Articles sent to the editors for publication in the collection "Metallurgy" are subject to mandatory review.
The following sequence is foreseen:
- the executive secretary of the collection conducts an examination of the article for compliance with the basic requirements for publications in the collection;
- at a meeting of the editorial board, candidates for external reviewers are proposed and discussed, who are the leading specialists of the Republic of Belarus in the field of metallurgy and materials science and have a doctorate in technical sciences in the relevant field. Reviewers should not be in scientific, financial or other relationships with the authors of the articles and the editorial board. Reviewing is carried out on a voluntary and free of charge basis;
- when reviewing an article, reviewers evaluate the content of the article in terms of the relevance, validity and clarity of the material presented, the reliability and novelty of the results presented, the practical significance of the materials, the validity of the conclusions, the correspondence of the content of the article to the subject matter of the collection;
- the review indicates: a recommendation for the publication of the article; the need for processing in accordance with the comments (with re-review) or reject with justification. In case of a conflict situation, the manuscript of the article can be sent to an additional reviewer;
- with a positive assessment of the reviewer at a meeting of the editorial board, a decision is made to publish the manuscript of the article.
The authors of the articles are given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the content of the reviews.
Surnames, initials indicating the scientific degree of the reviewers are indicated on the cover of the collection.
