Profiling:
Automation of technological processes and production in the energy sector
In modern conditions, the energy strategy of the Republic of Belarus is aimed at more efficient use of energy resources - energy saving. Consumers and energy companies can save energy and, therefore, their costs with the help of automatic meter reading systems for electrical energy meters. This is an economic prerequisite for the introduction of automated systems for monitoring and accounting of electricity (ASCAE). ASKUE are designed to measure and account for electrical energy, as well as automatically collect, process, store and present information in a form convenient for analysis. They are complex complexes of instruments, devices, communication channels and software for monitoring, accounting and managing energy consumption parameters (volume and cost) according to personnel commands. ASKUE are used for commercial and technical metering of electricity at power plants, substations, industrial enterprises and organizations both supplying and consuming electrical energy. In the coming years, such automated systems will also be in demand in the areas of water, gas and heat metering.
Graduates receive a bachelor's degree and qualification as an engineer. These are specialists who have knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, electronics, microprocessor technology, including programmable controllers, data transmission via various communication channels, databases and database management systems, computer networks, modern information technologies and programming systems, prepared for work related to research, design, installation, adjustment and operation of modern automated information systems.

Automated electric drives
An electric drive is a high-tech system with an electric motor, semiconductor electronics and computer control that drives various mechanisms with power ranging from microwatts to thousands of kilowatts. Electric drives are used almost everywhere - in industry (e.g. cranes, conveyors, pumps, fans, excavators, robots) and in everyday life (e.g. household appliances, elevators, escalators, transportation). Everyone uses electric drives every day.
Graduates of the specialty are specialists of a wide profile, trained for work related to research, development, design, installation, adjustment, operation of automated electric drives and automation systems for industrial installations in all industries, utilities and household appliances. This predetermines the full demand for graduates of the specialty “Automated Electric Drives”.
Graduates receive a bachelor's degree and an engineering qualification.
Graduate department "Electric drive and automation of industrial installations and technological complexes."
One of the differences from other specialties that train specialists in the field of information technology (IT) is fundamental engineering training. Students study courses in modeling engineering structures, disciplines in the study of design automation tools, design of production processes (CAD, CAM, CAE), product life cycle management (CALS technologies, PDM/PLM systems) combined with disciplines common to most IT specialties development of mobile, Internet, Windows applications and databases, modern courses on design, development and testing of software and databases.
A graduate of the specialty is a programmer with engineering knowledge, a professional software developer, capable of designing large software systems and managing software projects.

Robotics is one of the most promising and dynamically developing areas of technological progress. Note that specialists in this field are trained by the only faculty in the Republic of Belarus - FITR. In the 21st century, robotization is presented as the highest degree of automation, affecting not only technical objects, but also human motor and intellectual functions. Modern robots are equipped with artificial vision and touch, information from which is used by control computers to perform tasks specified in the programs. A characteristic feature of engineers in this specialty is their comprehensive training in many aspects of high technology: mechanics, electronics, computer science, artificial intelligence, kinematics, computers and computer networks.
Graduates are awarded the title of bachelor and qualification - engineer.
