The BNTU Council is the primary self-governing body of Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU). The Council is chaired by the Rector of BNTU and is responsible for addressing key matters related to the university’s activities.
The Council operates in accordance with the Education Code of the Republic of Belarus, the Regulations on the Council of an Educational Institution, regulatory legal acts of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and other applicable regulations, as well as the Regulations on the BNTU Council and the BNTU Charter.
The Council is directly led by its Chair, Sergey V. Kharitonchik, Rector of BNTU and Doctor of Technical Sciences.
The Council’s ongoing activities are supported by its Secretary, Elena V. Bertosh, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, and its Technical Secretary, Svetlana N. Komlik, Master’s degree holder.
The current membership of the Council was approved by BNTU Order No. 04-P dated January 29, 2025, as amended by BNTU Orders No. 23-P dated June 10, 2025; No. 37-P dated September 19, 2025; No. 04-P dated January 21, 2026; No. 15-P dated March 16, 2026; and No. 18-P dated April 2, 2026.
The BNTU Council consists of 72 members. Of these, 18 members are representatives of the university’s student body, while 54 represent heads of BNTU structural and/or separate divisions, faculty and other university employees, local executive and administrative authorities, other government bodies, organizations that employ BNTU graduates, public associations, and other organizations.
During the current academic year, the Council operates in accordance with its Work Plan, approved by the University Council on July 8, 2025, under Protocol No. 12.
