The main self‑governing body of the Belarusian National Technical University (hereinafter referred to as BNTU) is the BNTU Council (hereinafter referred to as the Council). The Council is headed by the Rector of BNTU. The Council was established to address the key issues related to the activities of BNTU. The Council carries out its activities in accordance with the Education Code of the Republic of Belarus, the Regulations on the Council of an educational institution, approved by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, other legislative acts, the Regulations on the BNTU Council, and the BNTU Charter. The direct management of the Council’s activities is carried out by the Chairman of the Council, who is the rector of BNTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Sergey Vasilyevich Kharitonchik. The current activities of the Council are supported by the Secretary of the Council, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Elena Vasilyevna Bertosh, and the technical secretary of the Council, Master Svetlana Nikolaevna Komlik. The list of members of the council was approved by BNTU Order No. 04-P dated January 29, 2025 (as amended by BNTU Orders No. 23-P dated 06/10/2025; No. 37-P dated 09/19/2025; No. 04-P dated 01/21/2026; No. 15-P dated 03/16/2026; No. 18-P dated 04/02/2026). The BNTU Council consists of 72 members. Of these, 18 members are representatives of university students, 54 are representatives of heads of structural units and (or) separate divisions, teaching staff and other employees of BNTU, local executive and administrative bodies, other government bodies, organizations that are customers of personnel, public associations, and other organizations. The Council’s activities in the current academic year are carried out on the basis of the Council’s Work Plan, approved by the University Council on 02.07.2026, Protocol No. 12.
