On the 25 of January 2018 the opening ceremony (plenary session) of the XVI International Scientific and Technical Conference "Science for Education, Industry, and Economy" took place in the Belarusian National Technical University in advance of coming event – The Day of Belarusian Science.
The opening of the XVI International Scientific and Technical Conference “Science for Education, Industry, and Economy” was held by the Rector of BNTU Sergei Vasilevich Kharytonchyk, Vice-Rector of Scientific Activity, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Professor Maliarevich Aliaksandr Mihaylovich, Regional Director of the Elsevier company in Russia, East Europe, Turkey, Middle East and Central Asia Cohen Van der Krogt, chief editor of the journal “Energetika”, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Science of Belarus, professor Romanuk Fedor Alexeevich, the First Vice-Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Science of Belarus Sergey Antonovich Chizhik.
During the speech Sergei Vasilevich Kharytonchyk pointed out that with the opening of the XVI International Scientific and Technical Conference "Science for Education, Industry, Economics”, we also open International Youth Forum “Creative, Innovations – 2018” which is the precursor of the coming the V Belarusian and Chinese youth innovational forum “New Horizons – 2017”. It was also mentioned that there were plenty bright, innovational events of the previous Year of Science based on BNTU. The most significant section were “Technical Science – Industry 4.0”,the II Congress of Scientists, the VI Forum of the universities of the engineering and technological profile of the Union State, meeting of the section “Natural and technic sciences” as part of the international scientific and practical conference “Systems of governmental certification of researchers of the highest class, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus and others. As well rector marked that the journal “Energetika”, which is published by the university became a part of the international data base of the scientific literature Scopus. And the Confucius Institute in Science and Technics of BNTU got global recognition and is included in prestigious nomination “The best Institute 2017” under the version of the Chief Administration of Confucius Institutes (Hanban). Finishing the speech rector wished a good luck to all guests and participants of the Conference.
Vice-Rector of Scientific Activity of BNTU Maliarevich Aliaksandr Mihaylovich summarized up the results of scientific and innovational activity in his talk.
Director of the Elsevier company in Russia, East Europe, Turkey, Middle East and Central Asia Cohen Van der Krogt (Amsterdam, Holland) highly assessed that nowadays the journal “Energetika” of BNTU is officially a part of the biggest international data base of scientific literature Scopus, and he said that it is not only the achievement of the university, but also the achievement of the whole Belarus.
Summing up the results of the 2017 the Rector of the university Sergey Vasilevich Kharytonchyk presented awards to staff, workers and students, who got high rates and made a great contribution in scientific activity of Belarusian National Technical University.
