The 23rd International specialized exhibition Education and Career has completed its work in Minsk, which has become a key event for thousands of applicants choosing their professional path this year. Belarusian National Technical University has traditionally taken an active part, presenting applicants with a wide range of sought-after specialties. The participation of university representatives was aimed at promoting engineering education, the development of which is one of the state priorities.
A special role in the presentation of the university's capabilities was assigned to the Educational Integration Support Sector, which presented the university's systematic work with students of general secondary education institutions. It is this department that coordinates the activities of specialized engineering classes throughout the republic, providing training for motivated and talented applicants.
05.02 students from the engineering classes of Minsk Gymnasium No. 19 visited the nanodiagnostics laboratory of the Micro- and Nanotechnology Department (Instrumentation Engineering Faculty) for an introductory session. The gymnasium students were able to see with their own eyes the modern research equipment used by scientists and students. The practical lesson for the future engineers was conducted by Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Technical Sciences Dmitry Valeryevich Balokhonov. He told the schoolchildren about the operating principles of the devices and key tasks in the field of micro- and nanostructure analysis. This one-time but intensive event became an important element of career guidance work. Visiting a real scientific laboratory helps schoolchildren connect theoretical knowledge from the school curriculum with advanced technologies. Such events strengthen cooperation between BNTU and general secondary education institutions. In this way, the university fosters interest in engineering specialties among talented youth.
On February 3, students of Gymnasium No. 19 in Minsk visited the Faculty of Transport Communications. The students visited the Bridges and Tunnels department, where they got acquainted with its work and main areas of study. The department's staff held a session for the gymnasium students, telling them about the profession of a civil engineer and the specifics of designing complex transport infrastructure facilities.
On January 29, 2025, 10th-grade students of Gymnasium No. 146 in Minsk visited the Mining Operations department of FGDIE, where they learned about the profession of a mining engineer and modern technologies for mineral extraction. The department's engineer, Alexander Sergeevich, conducted a tour for the students and showed them how specialists work in this high-tech industry. The gymnasium students saw the equipment and models used to train future engineers.

On January 21, 2026, students of the 10th engineering class visited the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of BNTU, where they learned about the specialties offered there and how, upon graduation, they can become engineers in the automation of technical processes and production.
A faculty instructor conducted a practical session with the students called Creating Drawings of Complex Shapes and 3D Modeling of Housings for Them. A special computer program, SolidWorks, was used to complete the work. The gymnasium students succeeded in everything! We wish the Golden Maslenikovtsy success in their further exploration of engineering specialties!
On January 17, the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) hosted an Open Doors Day. The event brought together students from engineering classes of leading educational institutions in Minsk and regions, including Gymnasiums No. 6, 8, 37, 50, Minsk schools No. 207 and 217, as well as guests from Rodoshkovichi Secondary School No. 1, Gymnasium No. 1 in Orsha, and Gymnasium No. 3 in Bobruisk.
The ceremonial part was opened by the Rector of BNTU, Sergei Vasilyevich Kharitonchik. He addressed the future applicants with a welcome speech, emphasizing the importance of engineering education and the exciting prospects that the country's leading technical university opens up for them.
A consultation platform was organized at the event for schoolchildren and their parents. Specialists from the Educational Integration Support Sector explained in detail all the admission details for graduates of specialized engineering classes, answered questions, and helped build an individual educational path.
An exciting no-lose lottery helped schoolchildren test their knowledge, show ingenuity, and immerse themselves in the world of engineering professions. This format allowed them not only to learn something new but also to immediately apply logic and resourcefulness in practice.
The Open Doors Day at BNTU became an important step for high school students in choosing a future profession, demonstrating that engineering education is dynamic, interesting and prestigious.
