On December 20, as part of the practical sessions for the elective program "In the World of Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession," 10th-grade students from specialized classes of the Baranovichi general secondary education institution visited the Mechanical Engineering Faculty and the Instrument-Making Faculty, specifically the Department of Laser Engineering and Technology. Practical classes for the educational module "Engineering Technologies in Industry" were held at these faculties. From the first minutes of the visit, it became clear that the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) is a powerful scientific and practical base with enormous opportunities for students and young specialists. The schoolchildren found themselves at the center of innovation and cutting-edge technologies, surrounded by laser installations used in various fields: from medical and measuring applications to technological ones. The university's laboratories look very modern and are equipped with everything necessary for learning and scientific research. The educational process focuses on such important areas as optics, electronics, and control system programming. It is important to note that this field of study is aimed at those who are interested not only in "what can be done with a laser" but also in "how the laser itself is constructed and works." This knowledge is key to a successful career in fields such as information technology (e.g., optical sensors), medicine, and telecommunications. Such an elective session helped many students understand the practical significance of the knowledge they gain in school.

December 16 – theoretical round. Participants solved complex problems requiring fundamental knowledge in the field of natural sciences.
December 17 – practical round. Schoolchildren performed chemical-biological and physical experiments aimed at solving current problems using the principles of nature-like technologies.

A dialogue about the future took place at the BNTU Lyceum: the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences met with parents of engineering students.
On December 17, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Alexander Svistun and Deputy Secretary of the BNTU Admissions Committee for Applied Sciences Elena Shcherbakova addressed the parents of all eleventh-grade engineering students. The main topic of the meeting was a presentation of the specializations and specializations offered by one of the university's leading faculties. Alexander Svistun emphasized the uniqueness of the Faculty of Applied Sciences' educational programs and their alignment with modern technological trends. Particular attention was paid to the employment prospects and career advancement of young specialists.
Elena Shcherbakova, in turn, detailed all possible admission options for lyceum graduates. She explained the intricacies of the admissions campaign, including the specifics of targeted recruitment and the conditions for admission without entrance examinations for graduates of the BNTU Lyceum and engineering classes. The presentations resonated with the audience, as evidenced by the active question-and-answer session. Parents were interested in the passing scores and deadlines for the 2025 admissions campaign, admission options for different categories of applicants, interview requirements for engineering graduates, and much more. Faculty representatives provided comprehensive feedback on each request.
This direct communication strengthens the bond between the lyceum, the faculty, and the students' families. The meeting was an important step in the career guidance of talented young people. Events such as these foster an informed choice of a future engineering major. The Instrument Engineering Faculty continues to actively engage with potential applicants, opening the door to their career.

December 16, 2025
On December 16, students from the engineering classes of the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 2 in Oshmyany", as part of their curriculum for the elective "In the World of Technology and Engineering: Choosing an Engineering Profession," visited the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering and the Faculty of Power Engineering. During the thematic session "Industrial Ecology and Environmental Protection," the schoolchildren not only listened to theoretical material but also participated in an interactive game called "The Lake." This format allowed them to apply their knowledge in practice and demonstrate their skills in teamwork. Their activity, interest, and lively discussion made the session creative and informative. After the session, the students left with new impressions, useful knowledge, and a sincere interest in the chosen field.
Furthermore, the students visited the Faculty of Power Engineering, where they were informed about the fields of study, admission specifics, the nature of the educational process, and career prospects. This information became an essential part of their career guidance, helping them better envision their future goals and opportunities.

On December 15, a group of 11th-grade students specializing in engineering from Minsk Secondary School No. 207 named after Hero of Belarus Metropolitan Filaret visited the Faculty of Architecture of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU). The visit was part of studying the module "Modern Technologies in Architecture" within the optional course "In the World of Engineering and Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession."
During the introductory session, the students immersed themselves in a creative atmosphere: they visited lecture halls and workshops, viewed exhibitions of the best student works, and interacted with faculty and students. This was a valuable experience that helped the future applicants better understand the architect's profession and see the high level of training at the country's leading technical university.

How are complex metal parts created? The answer to this question marked the beginning of a practical lesson for tenth-grade students of the engineering profile at Gymnasium No. 40 in Minsk. The session took place on December 15th at the "Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Alloy Metallurgy" department of the Faculty of Mechanical Technology as part of the specialized elective "In the World of Engineering and Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession." The practical lesson on the topic "Building 3D Models of a Casting Mold" was conducted by a trainee teacher of the department, Diana Igorevna Matsinova. The students learned the basics of foundry production, created a digital model of the mold, simulated the pouring process, and calculated casting parameters. This interactive format allowed them to clearly see the connection between the digital model and the real technological process.

On December 11, students of the engineering group of grade 10 "A" of the capital's gymnasium No. 75 named after Maslennikov P.V. visited the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering as part of studying the educational module "Engineering Technologies in Industry" of the optional course "In the World of Machinery and Technologies: Choosing an Engineering Profession." Faculty teachers conducted a practical workshop with the students titled "Designing Mineral Deposits in Geographic Information Systems." Specialized computer software allowed them to conduct a virtual survey of a quarry using an unmanned aerial vehicle. To conclude the session, the students had the opportunity to learn about the machinery operating in the mines of the city of Soligorsk, which provided them with a comprehensive understanding of modern mining technologies—from digital modeling to actual "in-mine" work.

On December 9, 2025, students of the 10th and 11th specialized engineering classes of the Ivan P. Kozhar Kohany Secondary School of the Talachyn District, as part of studying the elective course "In the World of Technology and Engineering: Choosing an Engineering Profession," visited the Energy and Mechanical Engineering faculties of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU). Faculty teachers conducted training sessions for students in modern laboratories, each of which represents a mini-production site or a research center. At the Mechanical Engineering Faculty, students learned the principles of operation of modern drives and saw how modern automated production works. At the Energy Faculty, schoolchildren were shown models of distribution networks and substations, a center for modeling thermal processes, and research on the efficiency of power plants.
The topic of admission to these faculties and prospects for subsequent employment aroused particular interest among the students. For the engineering class students, this visit was not just an extracurricular activity but an important step in professional self-determination—a true journey into their future.

Representatives of the Instrument Engineering Faculty, students Peter Dobchinsky and Vyacheslav Zylkov, launched a career guidance initiative by visiting Secondary School No. 17 in Orsha. Their visit was aimed at introducing high school students to engineering education, the specifics of education and the busy life of our faculty.
During the presentation, the students highlighted in detail the features of the faculty, focusing on the relevance of such areas as the development of intelligent systems, microprocessor technology and biomedical engineering. They emphasized that a modern engineer is a specialist who successfully integrates knowledge in the fields of physics, computer science and project management. The story about the educational process was supplemented with information about the prospects of research and cooperation with leading industrial enterprises.
The part of the meeting devoted to extracurricular activities was no less meaningful. Future applicants were clearly shown that the university provides ample opportunities for self—realization, from athletic achievements as part of national teams to participation in creative festivals and volunteer projects. Practical issues related to comfortable living in student dormitories and the developed social infrastructure of the campus were also discussed.
The event became an important link in the career guidance work of the faculty, allowing for a direct dialogue with potential applicants. Personal experience and sincere involvement of student representatives have convincingly shown that studying at the university is not only a high-quality education, but also a unique environment for personal and professional development.

On December 9th, 11th-grade students of the engineering track from Gymnasium No. 22 in Minsk visited the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU). The Department of "Machines and Metal Forming Technology" organized a practical session with elements of an excursion for them. The session was conducted by the department's staff: teaching assistant Alexander Nikolaevich Boyarchuk, senior lecturer Yury Aleksandrovich Kostyuchenko, and engineer Polina Valeryevna Galimskaya. The students familiarized themselves with metal forming equipment: presses and tooling for basic stamping operations, as well as the machinery of rolling and drawing production. Under the guidance of specialists, the schoolchildren performed a blanking operation on a press and also tried out the processes of rolling and drawing on the corresponding mills.

On Saturday, December 6, an Open Day was held at the Instrument Engineering Faculty of BNTU, which brought together almost 60 applicants and their parents from different regions of Belarus. Among the participants were high school students from secondary school No. 15 in Lida, secondary school No. 6 in Slutsk, secondary school No. 4 in Osipovichi, secondary school No. 12 in Vitebsk, gymnasium No. 18 in Minsk, secondary school No. 19 in Minsk, gymnasium No. 2 in Baranovichi, secondary school No. 4 in Soligorsk, secondary schools No. 3 in Gantsevichi, gymnasium No. 25 in Minsk, secondary school No. 130 in Minsk, as well as organized groups of teachers from secondary schools No. 6 and No. 108 in Minsk.
The event began with a live conversation between applicants and their parents with students of group 11312124 Ilya Tverdov and Stanislav Burak at the faculty information stand. They talked about their specialty and answered numerous questions from the guests. The meeting was continued by engineers of the Department of Information and Measurement Engineering and Technology Yana Kodyadko and Natalia Petritskaya, who themselves were students of the faculty, then enrolled in the master's program and now work at the department.
Then Elena Shcherbakova, Deputy Executive Secretary of the BNTU Admissions Committee for the Faculty of Instrument Engineering, presented all the specialties and profiles of the faculty and spoke in detail about the admission opportunities. Many were interested in the possibilities of admission to the target set.
After the general part, all the participants divided into groups and went to the departments that interested them. Professor Pavel Serenkov, Head of the Department, presented the specialty "Metrology, Standardization and Quality Control" at the Department of Standardization, Metrology and Information Systems. At the Department of Laser Engineering and Technology, Alexander Malyarevich, Head of the Department, Corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, introduced the guests to the specialty "Optoelectronic and Laser Technology". Roman Vorobey, Head of the Department of Information and Measurement Technology, spoke about the directions of his department, and Andrey Savchenko, Head of the Department of Design and Manufacture of Devices, presented the possibilities of training specialists in the field of biomedical engineering and jewelry production. In the laboratory of nano Diagnostics, Dmitry Balakhonov, Associate Professor of the Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology, introduced applicants and their parents to the specialties of Microsensory Systems Technology and Micro- and Nanosystem Engineering.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to students of engineering classes, both tenth and eleventh. Among them were students from Gymnasium No. 6 in Minsk, from Lida, Osipovichi and secondary school No. 108 in Minsk.
The event turned out to be rich and informative. The applicants and their parents received answers to all their questions, got to know the teachers and students, and were also able to learn more about the specialties of the faculty. The Instrument Engineering Faculty of BNTU invites everyone to the Open Days, which take place every first Saturday of the month from 10:00.

On December 4th, students of the 10th "B" specialized engineering class from the Secondary School No. 191 of Minsk visited the Department of "Materials Science in Mechanical Engineering" at the Mechanical-Technological Faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU). The session was conducted by Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences Vasily Aleksandrovich Stefanovich and Engineer of the department Dmitry Ivanovich Gurinovich. During the practical lesson of the elective course "In the World of Technology and Engineering: Choosing a Career in Engineering," the schoolchildren examined the structure of metal samples using microscopes, independently performed hardening of specimens, and investigated changes in their physical properties. This practical master class provided valuable experience, allowing the future applicants to deepen their knowledge in the field of materials science and see the application of theory in practice.

On December 2, students of the 11th engineering class of the State Educational Institution "Svislach Secondary School named after A.H. Charchyakov" visited the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) – one of the oldest faculties that trains specialists in the fields of mechanical engineering, technology, automation, and production economics.
Under the guidance of Senior Lecturer Yagor Vyachaslavavich Pilipchuk from the "Mechanical Engineering Technology" department, the students successfully completed a practical workshop titled "Basics of Working with Assemblies in KOMPAS. Creating a Three-Dimensional Model of an Assembly Unit."
"Fascinating! Interesting! Accessible!" – this is how the students themselves assessed their activity.
Undoubtedly, the new competencies in 3D modeling will be useful for future engineers.

On November 29, students of the 10th specialized engineering classes of "Pukhavichy Secondary School named after A.F. Smeyanovich" and "Secondary School No. 4 in Maryina Horka named after P.I. Huchak" visited the Mechanical-Technological Faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), the Department of Machines and Technology of Foundry Production. Under the guidance of the department's assistant, Sergei Alekseevich Matsinau, the schoolchildren not only studied the theory but also immediately applied their knowledge in practice. In the computer class, they created 3D models of casting molds and conducted virtual pouring in the professional software complex PoligonSoft, analyzing the results and parameters of the future casting. The students also identified the elements of the casting and its final parameters. Furthermore, an excursion to the department's educational laboratories was organized for the guests. The schoolchildren saw the basic equipment for non-ferrous metal casting, auxiliary apparatus for preparing mixtures, and learned about the principles of 3D modeling in the modern foundry industry.

The program included several events:
A practical session "Designing Mineral Deposits in the Surfer Mining-Geological Information System," conducted by senior lecturer of the "Mining Operations" department – Evgeniya Yuryevna Naryzhnova. A tour of the student campus and faculty laboratories was led by senior students. The lesson on the topic "Waterways and Water Transport of the Republic of Belarus. Port Structures. Canals, Locks, Their Design and Maintenance" was conducted by Vyacheslav Vladimirovich Vlasov, senior lecturer at the Department of Hydraulic and Energy Construction, Water Transport, and Hydraulics. During their visit to the faculty, the gymnasium students had a unique opportunity to observe the practical classes of the faculty’s students. On November 25, students of the engineering classes from the Maryina Gorka Gymnasium and Secondary School No. 1 of Maryina Gorka visited the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) as part of studying the educational module "Engineering Technologies in Industry" from the elective course "In the World of Technology and Engineering: Choosing an Engineering Profession." The students were told about the specifics of working in quarries and mines, and were shown samples of specialized mining equipment in the faculty's educational laboratory. Under the guidance of teachers and senior students during the elective class, the pupils learned to determine the classification of rocks through experimentation, distinguish between types of rocks based on various criteria, and identify types of minerals by their diagnostic properties. This visit helped the schoolchildren not only to deepen their knowledge of the elective subject but also to truly get a touch of their future profession.

On November 22, as part of the implementation of the cooperation agreement between the "Secondary School No. 14 of Lida" and the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), 10th-grade students from a specialized class visited the Faculty of Power Engineering Construction and the Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics. The event was held within the framework of the school elective "In the World of Engineering and Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession" and was aimed at immersing high school students in the world of modern engineering specialties.

November 21, 2025
On November 21, students of the specialized 11th grade of Gymnasium No. 1 in Diatlovo (Grodno region) visited the Power Engineering Faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) as part of their elective course "In the World of Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession." The thematic session was conducted in the form of an excursion and an introduction to the professional activities of a power engineering specialist. The event program was intensive and educational. The schoolchildren not only learned about the faculty's material and technical resources but also had the opportunity to personally visit modern laboratories, where educational equipment and stands used in the educational process were demonstrated to them.

On November 21, students of the engineering group of the 11th grade of "Secondary School No. 8 in Zhodino" visited a practical lesson at the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics (FITR) on the topic "Creating a Simple Three-Dimensional Model".
The teacher demonstrated the process of creating a 3D model to the schoolchildren step by step, using a classic LEGO part as an example. The students were shown the principle of assembling and interacting several parts in a virtual space. To help the students with their future career choices, they were told about in-demand professions and the advantages of studying at the FITR faculty at the end of the session.

On November 20, students of specialized (10,11) engineering classes of Gymnasium No. 1 in Kopyl visited the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology of BNTU as part of the optional course "In the world of engineering and technology: choosing an engineering profession." A practical lesson with guided tour elements was held for the high school students, organized by the Department of Powder Metallurgy, Welding and Materials Technology and the Department of Machines and Technology of Metalworking by Pressure.
At a thematic lesson conducted by Vladimir Antonovich Dasko, an engineer at the PMSiTM Department, and Alexander Nikolaevich Boyarchuk, an assistant at the MiTOMD Department, the students got acquainted with the basics of welding production: they learned about the principles of welding materials and the parameters affecting this process, studied various types of welding and related equipment. In addition, everyone was able to try their hand at applying a welding seam at a specialized training stand.
The students also learned about modern technologies and equipment for metalworking by pressure. This lesson allowed the students not only to broaden their horizons, but also to get to know their future profession in practice.

On November 19, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology at BNTU welcomed prospective students. The university was visited by 10th- and 11th-grade students from Secondary School No. 1 in Sharkovshchina, Vitebsk Region.
As part of the elective course "In the World of Engineering and Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession," Associate Professor Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Astreiko and Senior Lecturer Mitrofan Aleksandrovich Sudnikov conducted a fascinating lesson for the students in the Department of Materials Science in Mechanical Engineering. The students learned about the diversity of metal structures and explored the principles of heat treatment. They examined the structure of sample blanks under a microscope and independently performed a metal hardening operation.
That same day, the faculty hosted another group of guests—10th-grade students from Minsk Gymnasium No. 146, a specialized engineering class. At the Foundry Machines and Technology Department, assistant Sergei Alekseevich Matsinov introduced them to the fundamentals of foundry technology. The students not only mastered the theory but also gained valuable practical experience: they created a 3D model of a casting mold and performed a virtual casting using the specialized PoligonSoft software package. At the end of the lesson, they successfully determined the casting components and its final parameters.
Both visits were an excellent opportunity for the students to gain exposure to the world of high technology and modern engineering.

From metrology to nanotechnology: schoolchildren from Baranovichi visited the PSF
More than 40 students from Gymnasium No. 1 in Baranovichi, including engineering students, visited the Faculty of Instrument Engineering to learn about modern specialties. The event included presentations, practical exercises and laboratory tours.
On November 6, several events were organized at the Instrument Engineering Faculty for students of grades 11A, B and C of Gymnasium No. 1 in Baranovichi.
E.N. Shcherbakova, Deputy Executive Secretary of the BNTU Admission Committee for the PSF, spoke in detail about all the specialties and profiles of the PSF. The students gained a clear understanding of the forms of education and passing grades of previous years.
The first stop in the world of high technologies was the laboratory of Materials Technology of Electronic Equipment. The students watched how the properties of metals and alloys were investigated using modern equipment, then practical classes were held under the guidance of Karina Sergeevna Lyutsko, senior lecturer at the Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology. In the course of their work, they used metallographic microscopes to study the microstructure of various metals and alloys.
Pavel Stepanovich Serenkov, Head of the Department of Standardization, Metrology and Information Systems, gave an exciting lecture on metrology and its role in economic development. He stressed that graduates of the department are the elite who are in demand at any industrial enterprise. He showed with vivid examples how standardization permeates all spheres of life. Of particular interest was the story about the career paths of graduates and the opportunities to engage in science.
The final point of the route was a unique laboratory of nanodiagnostics. Here, the guests were introduced to promising specialties in the field of microsystem engineering and microsensorics. They were shown atomic force microscopes and their operating principle was clearly explained, and they were told about the key areas of nanoelectronics development.
The event convincingly showed that the PSF is a direct path to the profession of the future. The event ended, leaving the students with vivid impressions and a clear understanding of their prospects.

Profocene at the PSF: more than 40 metropolitan schoolchildren got acquainted with engineering specialties
On November 4, the Faculty of Instrument Engineering received engineering students from six Moscow educational institutions as part of the profile shift "Profocene".
The Instrument Engineering Faculty of BNTU conducted a large-scale career guidance tour for 45 students of the capital's secondary education institutions - gymnasiums No. 4, 19, 32, 39 and secondary schools No. 1, 140, 217. The event was held on November 4 as part of the profile shift of the "Vocational School" of engineering. The participants visited the laboratories of the 17th building, where they got acquainted with modern equipment and research projects.
Roman Ivanovich Vorobey, Head of the Department of Information and Measuring Equipment and Technologies, presented promising developments in the field of measuring systems. Associate Professor of the Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology Elena Nikolaevna Shcherbakova demonstrated the capabilities of the nanodiagnostics laboratory.
The students were actively interested in the educational programs of the faculty. Special attention was paid to specialties in the field of micro- and nanotechnology, as well as information and measurement systems. The teachers answered questions about admission and employment prospects in detail. The tour has become an important stage in the professional orientation of future applicants.
Students of engineering classes of Secondary school No. 22 visited the PSF laboratories
Representatives of the Faculty of Instrument Engineering conducted an excursion for students of engineering classes of the capital's school No. 22, introducing them to modern areas of training and the laboratory base of the faculty.
On November 5, the Instrument Engineering Faculty of BNTU opened its doors to students of engineering classes at the capital's secondary school No. 22. The event brought together 18 high school students who plan to link their future with technical specialties. The online launch gave a powerful impetus to the entire project, which was followed by a vibrant festival presentation "We are the future engineers." On October 30, the students of the specialized Grade 10 engineering class at Minsk's Gymnasium No. 50, awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, expanded their understanding of their future profession by visiting the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology. The event was held as part of the optional course "In the World of Engineering and Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession."
The program included an introduction to the Department of "Machines and Technology of Foundry Production." The tour and theoretical session for the future engineers were conducted by Artem Zhoglo, Assistant of the "S.I. Gubkin Department of Machines and Technology of Metal Forming," and Sergey Matsinov, Assistant of the "Department of Machines and Technology of Foundry Production." The school students had a unique opportunity to see the educational laboratories for foundry and forging production. They were not only shown the basic and auxiliary equipment for non-ferrous metal casting and mixture preparation but also had its capabilities demonstrated to them. On October 28, the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics held a practical session of the elective course "In the World of Technology and Engineering: Choosing an Engineering Profession" for eleventh-grade students from Secondary School No. 8 in Zhodino. The topic of the lesson, "Virtual Testing of a Simple 3D Model," part of the module "Digital and Intelligent Technologies in Engineering," allowed the students to feel like analysis engineers for a day. Using modern engineering analysis software, they applied a virtual load to a digital model and observed the distribution of mechanical stresses in real-time. The high school students independently set the load parameters for the digital model and analyzed the results. With the help of specialized software, they saw how the load affects the structure and studied the color-coded stress distribution map. This visualization clearly demonstrated to the future engineers how modern technologies can predict product behavior at the design stage, avoiding the costly production of physical prototypes.
On October 28, 2025, tenth and eleventh-grade students from the engineering track of Gymnasium No. 3 in Bobruisk visited the country's leading technical university, the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU).
The prospective engineers visited the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics, and the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering as part of their study of the elective course "In the World of Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession."
At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, a master class on working with the "KOMPAS-3D" computer-aided design system was organized for the classmates who are intensively studying physics and mathematics. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, the schoolchildren created their first digital models. The tasks varied from designing the simplest parts to complex 3D models, such as an airplane. A practical lesson on the educational module "Digital and Intelligent Technologies in Engineering" for the gymnasium students was conducted by Ivan Astapovich—a graduate of this same gymnasium, now a first-year student at the Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics. Ivan excelled at the task, presenting the material competently and accessibly.
Simultaneously, a group of students with a chemical-biological focus visited the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering. Alena Uladzimirauna Zialenukha, Senior Lecturer of the "Environmental Engineering" department, told the gymnasium students in detail about the prospects of studying there, opportunities for participating in research work, and presenting at republican and international conferences. The schoolchildren were able to ask all their questions and received detailed answers. The meeting concluded with an engaging environmental game conducted by Lizaveta Siarheeuna Karatkaya, an engineer from the department. The most active and erudite participants of the game received commemorative prizes from the faculty.

The students got acquainted with engineering activities in the development of minerals and completed two practical works: "Designing mineral deposits in geoinformation systems" and "Practical geology. On 10/20/2025, students of the 10th "A" class of engineering from the capital Gymnasium No. 192 visited the Architectural Faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University. The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with one of the most creative and sought-after professions, the profession of architect, as part of the study of the educational module "Modern Technologies in Architecture" of the elective "In the world of engineering and technology: choosing an engineering profession".

As part of the training module "Digital and Intelligent Technologies in Engineering" of the elective "In the world of engineering and technology: Choosing an engineering profession", high school students completed practical work on building a two-dimensional drawing and creating the simplest three-dimensional model. For this, they used the professional CAD COMPASS computer program for the first time.
Despite the fact that the software was new to the students, thanks to the support of the teachers and their own interest, the Golden Maslennikov team successfully completed all the tasks set. This visit was an important step in their professional self-determination and allowed them to get to know the tools of a modern engineer in practice.

In the world of nanotechnology with the Faculty of Instrument Engineering
On Monday, October 6, as part of the elective course "In the world of engineering and technology", the Faculty of Instrument Engineering held classes on the topics "Instrument engineering. Definition of the concepts of "nanotechnology" and "nanomaterials". Processes of self-assembly and self-organization. Probe technologies and nuclear engineering. Nanolithography. The main methods of obtaining nanomaterials. Carbon nanostructures, their preparation and properties, nanotechnology and instrumentation". Almost 100 students of specialized engineering classes at the BNTU Lyceum were able to plunge into the nanoscale laboratory of nanodiagnostics of the Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology.
Dmitry Balokhonov and Elena Shcherbakova, Associate professors of the Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology at the PSF, introduced the lyceum students to the basics of nanotechnology, talked about self-assembly processes and the prospects for creating materials with specified properties. Special attention was paid to the practical application of nanotechnology in modern instrument engineering.
— Today we showed the students that nanotechnology is not the future, but the present of modern instrument engineering, — said Dmitry Valentinovich. — It is especially valuable that the students were able not only to hear the theory, but also to get acquainted with the real research equipment.
The lesson allowed the lyceum students to get an idea of modern trends in the development of instrument engineering and the possibilities of implementation in professions related to nanotechnology and microsystem engineering.

Yesterday, on October 6, as part of the optional course "In the world of engineering and technology", the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering held a practical lesson with students of the 10th grade of the BNTU Lyceum on the topic "Mechanical engineering as the basis for the technological development of all industries."
Egor Pilipchuk, Senior lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, told the students about the role of mechanical engineering in the Republic of Belarus, the current challenges and stages of transition to the concept of Industry 4.0, smart technologies and the development of smart manufacturing.
Andrey Rudnitsky, a junior researcher at the laboratory of Laser and Plasma Technologies, demonstrated the operation of an electric erosion machine, a laser welding and laser engraving unit. Lyceum students were given the opportunity to independently participate in the connection of two parts using a laser beam.
Then, Nazar Gotov, an engineer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, introduced the students to the work of the flexible production module, during which it was possible to program a standard set of routines to control the operation of the manipulator, starting from gripping a part and ending with its movement onto a conveyor belt.

Students of the 10th specialized engineering class of Gymnasium No. 39 in Minsk performed practical work at the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering of BNTU.
The students got acquainted with the professions of a surveyor and a surveyor. Under the guidance of Vadim A.
