International scientific and practical conference was held on 18-19 of April 2019 at the site of the LTC “Management company of the holding “Belavtodor” by the address Minsk, Kalvariiskaya street, 37 (plenary session).

The work was carried put in two sections:
The 1st section “Innovations in road construction”
The chairman – Mitko Leonid Pomanovich, c.t.s., professor of BNTU
The 2nd section “Students and innovations – road of 21st century”
The chairman – Adashkevich Vladislav Igorevich , senior lecturer of the department “Car roads” of BNTU.
The organizers of the conference were:
- The ministry of transport and communications of Republic of Belarus;
- Intergovernmental Council of Road Workers;
- The ministry of education of Republic of Belarus;
- State enterprise “BeldorNII”;
- Belarusian National Technical University, Faculty of Transport Communication;
- Management company of the holding “BELAVTODOR”.
Main directions of the conference – the problems and [prospects of the development of the CSI roads associated with the study of the fields of construction theory, diagnostics, maintenance and repair of roads, transport constructions, requirements for logical road safety.
The conference was attended by the heads of the road sector of the Republic of Belarus, the head of the secretariat of the International Council of Road Workers, Dr. Sc. Karimov B.B., representatives of the academic community of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Austria, the heads of the road organizations, researchers of the BNTU, doctoral students, graduate students and students of BNTU.
Participants of the conference recalled the life andwork of Professor Leonovich I.I., which is an example of selfless service to science and higher education of our state.
Long-term service and scientific and educational activities were always aimed at improving the management system of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, optimization of curricula and programs, creating a healthy moral and ethical climate among the students, ensuring of patriotic education of young generation, training of highly qualified engineering and scientific personnel in solving scientific problems that are relevant for the education of road construction. Many thousands of engineers were trained with his participation in the departments “Car roads”, “Bridges, Transport tunnels and underground”, “Organization and security of road traffic”, “Forest engineering” etc. He provides the training for 6 doctors and 23 PhD, 7mastrs and a number of researchers. He has more than 1,200 scientific and methodological publications, including monographs, textbooks, patents, articles and other publications.
For achievements in scientific and pedagogical work and active public activity I. I. Leonovich was awarded with the order of Fatherland of II and III degree, with the order of "Badge of Honor", with three medals, with diplomas of the Supreme Soviet of the BSSR, Ministry of higher education of the USSR and the Byelorussian SSR, the USSR Embassy in the Republic of Cuba, Ministry of education of Belarus, of the Department "Belavtodor", National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, rectors of the BSTU and Belarusian national technical University and other agencies and organizations. He is honored with the Diploma of Honor of VDNKH of the USSR and badges of distinction of the Belarusian railway, Minvuz of the USSR, Gosstandart of the USSR, the Central Committee of Komsomol, the Ministry of education and Pedagogical society of Belarus and the Kazakh road research Institute. The permanent Commission of the House of representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus I.I. Leonovich expressed gratitude for the great personal contribution to the development of the national science of Belarus, outstanding achievements in the field of road construction, high level of professionalism and moral and ethical qualities, providing Patriotic education of the younger generation, training of engineers and scientists for the successful development of the country's economy.
