Traditionally, competitions were held in two categories: "The highest building. Towers" and "Construction with the largest span. Bridges". Only pasta and clay were used as building materials.  The jury evaluated the work on several criteria: architectural expressiveness, functionality, economy, stability, durability.

According to the organizers, 150 packs of pasta were purchased for the contest. But they were not enough: there were a lot of participants the current competition. On the balustrade of the main building of St. Petersburg State Architecture and Construction University, where the competitions took place, the spirit of excitement and mutual assistance prevailed. As the dean of the Faculty of Engineering Ecology and Municipal Economy of St. Petersburg State Architecture and Construction University Shesterov E. We are glad to announce that among the winners of the international competition were the students of our faculty: in the nomination "The highest building. Towers” II place was taken by the team “The Hand of God” with Olga Oderetskaya (11004414), Artem Martynenko (11004414), Vladimir Gaevsky, Maria Leshkevich (11002114) and Anna Gubskaya.

The guys shared their impressions of the contest: “As for the tower design, we built the same as in Minsk. But some changes were made during the competition. As a result, the tower was very high, to the very ceiling. During all the days of the contest, she passed the test for strength and survived! And as for the bridge design, we didn’t have enough practice, the bridge itself ruined at night and fell. There was no nervousness or alarm, but sometimes pasta was broken quite a lot, we did not like it. We would like to thank the University for the opportunity to attend the international contest in St. Petersburg.”
