On the 20th of March 2018 II Session of International Moscow Model of World Customs Organization was opened in Russian Customs Academy under the aegis of the customs faculty and the World Customs Organization.
It is necessary to notice that WCO is the only one intergovernmental organization in the sphere of customs affairs. Established in 1952 WCO is engaged in advising and standardizing customs procedures and developing customs technologies in order to facilitate and ensure the security of international trade.
The WCO is an environment in which governments compare their political experience, look for answers to common problems, identify and study positive experiences and standards, and also resolve issues of customs policy coordination.
As it is known, one of the main activities of WCO is norm-setting, which is implemented through a wide range of different programs, including the MIM WCO.
MIM WCO is a unique project main goal of which is to promote the appearance of innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of the customs administrations of states and integration associations in the global economy.
The peculiarity of the Model is that its main participants are students of the Universities of the EEU and neighboring countries. This fact testifies to the use of the MIM WCO as a platform not only for strengthening international relations, but also for self-realization and professional growth of young people, familiarization with the best modern world customs administration practices.
In 2018 the work of the Model was organized in two directions: the first - the simplification of world trade, the second - the security of world trade.
Students of groups 10806215 and 10806315 (Management Technologies and Humanitarization Faculty, Department of Customs Affairs) Zhevlakova Anastasia Yuryevna and Lamonina Anastasia Vyacheslavovna were invited as participants to the Model and Dean of Management Technologies and Humanitarization Faculty Gennady Mikhailovich Brovka, the PhD in Pedagogics as an expert. To become participants of the MIM, the girls passed the selection round, which took place in the form of an interview in English (because English is the only working language of the Model) and writing thesis on the chosen topic about a concrete state.
