29 years ago on the 15th of February complete withdrawal of Soviet combatant forces from Afghanistan was ended. Since 1998 the Day of Remembrance of Soldiers-Internationalists has acquired an official status in our country.

On February 15, 2018 at the monument to the soldiers-internationalists "Black tulip" in Soligorsk meeting "It's impossible to erase Afghanistan from the memory" was held. Students of PLES-15 group of the Soligorsk State Mining and Chemical College together with their curator Vadim Georgievich Chernitsky and the head of PLES branch Nikolay Nikolayevich Borodko attended this solemn event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Soldiers-Internationalists.

The BNTU team took part in a peat football tournament.
The 8th National Peat Football Tournament, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Belarusian energy system, was held on June 20, 2026, in the village of Pravdinsky, Pukhovichi District, at the Sergeevichskoye Peat Briquette Plant branch of the Mingaz State Unitary Enterprise. Twenty-seven teams participated, including some from Russia. A team of students and faculty from the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering and the Faculty of Power Engineering of the Belarusian National Technical University took to the peat fields. The peat football tournament is not only an exciting competition but also an opportunity to network with colleagues and meet like-minded individuals.
