     Andrey Kologrivko, Dean of the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering, spoke about the importance of engineering education for the mineral resource complex of the economy of the Republic of Belarus at a meeting with students of the newly opened 10th engineering class of secondary school No. 5.Soligorsk named after Hero of the Soviet Union V.I.Kozlov (https://sch5.edus.by/).

     For reference: in order to form a technical outlook among students in grades 10-11 and a systematic understanding of the content of various types of engineering activities, a new field of study has been opened since the 2023 academic year – specialized engineering classes, coordinated by the Belarusian National Technical University (link to the BNTU Engineering classes at BNTU – Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU). Since September 2023, over 600 engineering classes and groups have been opened in the Republic of Belarus, where more than 6.5 thousand students receive education.

      During the event, the students showed their knowledge in the field of engineering, immersed themselves in the world of mining, talked with students and teachers of the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering.

      As a result of the meeting, the students got an idea of the sought-after professions and possible areas of activity in Soligorsk and the Soligorsky district.
