Andrey Troshin

Graduate of the department "Laser Engineering and Technology" in 2004, optical engineer with an academic degree of Master of Technical Sciences

The Department of Laser Engineering and Technology trains engineers in one of the most steadily growing areas of science and technology. Over the past five years, the annual growth in the field of laser systems has been more than 6% in monetary terms ("Annual Laser Market Review and Forcast: Where have all the lasers gone?", Laser Focus World, January 23, 2017). Moreover, all market participants unanimously agree that the widespread use of unmanned vehicles, drones and autonomous industrial robots in the very near future will lead to an explosive growth in demand for lidars. For example, Uber alone plans to replace more than a hundred thousand drivers with autonomous cars today ("Uber's First Self-Driving Fleet Arrives in Pittsburg This Month", Blumberg, August 23, 2016). Respectively,

My personal experience has shown that studying at the department, and in particular its master's program, makes it possible to realize oneself both in engineering and research projects, both in Belarus and abroad, where there have never been questions with the recognition of our diplomas and qualifications. In addition to working in one of the leading research organizations in the field of laser materials, the "International Laser Center of BNTU" (today NITs OMT) and in one of the leaders in the production of laser systems in Belarus, the company "Solar LS", I have worked and continue to work in European organizations related to with the world of photonics. I spent several years at the University of Düsseldorf working as an engineer on a project by the European Space Agency to create an ultra-precise optical clock that, when launched into space in 2022, will help to understand some aspects of the General Theory of Relativity. Currently, I work in Zurich for the Swiss company Onefive GmbH, one of the world's leading manufacturers of femto- and picosecond lasers. Our company, thanks to unique technologies and an innovative approach, in just 10 years from the date of the official release of the first product, has become one of the leading suppliers of lasers for ophthalmology, and among our customers and partners are organizations such as European XFEL (the world's largest laser on free electrons) and CERN.

I am very glad that my professional path began with the Department of Laser Engineering and Technology of the BNTU, where I have only the warmest and most pleasant memories of studying there.

Milanovich Sergey Nikolaevich

Graduate of BNTU in 2006. Department of "Laser equipment and technology". Completed the course with a bachelor's degree.

Place of employment: Onefive GmbH, Switzerland ( www.onefive.com )

Position: Lead engineer of laser systems.

Business Description: Development, design, optimization and construction of laser systems with ultra-short pulse durations (femto- and picoseconds).

When entering the university, I chose the specialty more with my heart, because. none of the acquaintances, friends or relatives had any idea about lasers and their applications. As a result, I never regretted my choice. For the entire work experience, I worked in the leading laser companies in Minsk, managed to live in Japan and currently live and work in Switzerland. The Department of Laser Engineering and Technology endowed me with a set of knowledge and skills that were often used in everyday practice. Teachers have extensive experience, which is constantly replenished and updated, following the development of new technologies. Although the laser field is considered to be narrowly focused, but working here, you become at least an entry-level specialist in such areas as precision mechanics, electronics, thermodynamics and programming.

I am deeply grateful to the Department and all teachers for the experience and knowledge gained.

Selivanov Andrey

Graduate of BNTU in 2004 of the Department of Laser Engineering and Technology. He received a diploma with honors, a bachelor's degree in instrumentation, a master's degree in technical sciences. Graduated from the post-graduate course of the Belarusian National Technical University with a degree in Laser Physics.

I work as the head of the design department at Onefive GmbH. The company is one of the leaders in the production of femto- and picosecond lasers.

I am engaged in the design of femto- and picosecond lasers, systems, harmonic generators. Optimization and automation of design processes.

All graduates of the department working in our company are recognized, highly qualified engineers. I can say that the Belarusian school of optical instrumentation is competitive and even a leader in Europe.

When entering the specialization Laser Engineering and Technology, I had no idea what I would encounter. Chose because of the beautiful word "laser". Subsequently, he never regretted his choice. It was easy to learn. The teaching staff at the department and the training time as a whole left the most pleasant memories. In general, I recommend!

Dubilovich

Graduate of BNTU in 2004 of the Department of Laser Engineering and Technology. He received a diploma with honors and a bachelor's degree in instrumentation.

I work as the head of the design department at CJSC "Technological Park of Cosmonautics LINKOS", Russia, Moscow, Shcherbinka ( http://www.linkos-tcp.ru/ )

Field of activity: design of electric drives, television, thermal imaging and laser rangefinder systems and observation and detection complexes created on their basis. Development of construction concepts, plans for improvement and modernization.

I don’t know how to write in official language about my attitude to the department. I use the knowledge gained during the training in practice, I am completely and completely satisfied with them. But I also use the knowledge gained at school - I was also lucky with teachers there, and also my own locksmith skills. Because the understanding of the properties of materials and the "feeling of iron" are necessary for the designer, and they can be obtained only through their own hands, broken drills and taps.

I express my gratitude to the teachers for the knowledge received from them: Lyashko O.M., Fedortsev R.V., Kozeruk A.S., Artyukhina N.K., Yumashev K.V., Malyarevich A.M., Malevich I.A. ). Someone must have forgotten.
