According to these specializations, engineers are being trained to work at enterprises and organizations that develop, manufacture and operate modern optical, optoelectronic and laser devices and systems that are used in almost all areas of science and technology: in military affairs - as high-precision guidance and observation of moving objects; in communication and control systems - to ensure high-speed transmission of information flows; in medicine - for diagnosing and treating a person; in industrial production - when processing various materials and controlling the output parameters of products; in television and video equipment; in geodesy and topography - when measuring and compiling maps of the area; in film, photo, aerial photography and other areas of instrumentation.
The main attention in the training of specialists is paid to the issues of designing optical and laser devices, methods of calculating optical systems, optical production technology, designing optoelectronic and laser devices, as well as their use in modern optical and laser technologies, including information processing technologies, obtaining new optical and laser materials and radiation sources.

1-38 01 02 04 "Lighting technology and light sources"
Specialists will undergo general technical and special engineering training in the field of optical instrumentation and profiling training in various aspects of the development, production technology, operation and maintenance of light sources and lighting devices. This new promising specialization will allow graduates to gain in-depth knowledge of the most modern light sources and lighting devices and installations based on the use of LEDs, as well as to deeply understand the issues of lighting design and energy efficiency of lighting technology in production and at home. Graduates will be able to work as engineers for the calculation and design of light sources, lighting devices and lighting installations, as well as lighting designers at enterprises producing lighting products and instrumentation for it,
