The department performs research work in accordance with the research plan on the topic:
GB No. 10-114 Mathematical and software for information processing systems in education and automated control systems for technical objects.
Main directions of scientific research:
1. Technologies for compiling computing software and hardware systems with improved parameters; development of methods for modeling, synthesis, verification and optimization of fully and partially defined software and hardware systems.
2. Mathematical and structural models of components and assemblies, as well as control systems for mobile machines, research and system analysis of the dynamic properties of mobile machines and their components in the process of computer modeling and design.
3. Modeling, control, diagnostics and optimization in mechanical engineering. Monitoring of the state of technical objects.
4. Models, methods and algorithms for planning and optimizing information and computing processes in high-performance parallel and distributed systems.
5. Automation and computerization of the educational process, mathematical and software support for information systems, development of information resources and services.
Main scientific results, the most significant implemented developments, the number of trained doctors and candidates of sciences:
A compiler and a system for high-level synthesis from the VHDL language, a system for the visualized design of parallel network programs based on the C language, and means for parallelizing algorithms used in the field of video information processing have been developed.
The proposed methods for designing high-performance parallel systems are used for the hardware-software implementation of the MPEG4 video standard at the Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland.
Scientific foundations have been developed, mathematical and software tools for computer modeling of mobile machines have been created. Recommendations are proposed to improve the smoothness of the ride, reduce the vibration load at the driver's workplace.
Computer modeling of road trains using object-oriented dynamic models was carried out, virtual tests of the cabin of truck and flatbed tractors were carried out as part of road trains; the analysis of the influence of the characteristics of the elastic-dissipative elements on the vibrations of the cab is made. The presented materials are aimed at creating new and modernizing serial models of main road trains.
42 monographs and teaching aids have been introduced into the educational process of BNTU, which are used in the process of conducting classes in most disciplines read at the department.
Members of the department work in councils for the defense of dissertations and in the expert council of the Higher Attestation Commission of Belarus.
Over the past five years, 4 candidates of technical sciences have been trained.
