The science

Along with educational activities, the branch of BNTU "IATRP" also conducts research work (R&D) in a number of topical areas of science, technology and economics, successfully participates in the fulfillment of R&D tasks of state programs of fundamental and applied research.

The importance of the research carried out in the branch of BNTU "IATRP" is evidenced, in particular, by the fact that the cycle of work of the branch under the guidance of Professor G.S. Kruglik ([Laser crystals: growing technology, research and implementation into practice]) in 2008 was nominated by the Academic Council of BNTU for the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus.

The results of joint research by scientists of the department "New Materials and Technologies" with colleagues from the Institute of Catalysis named after G.K. Boreskov of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the problems of physical and chemical foundations for the synthesis of porous ceramic metals were awarded the Academician V.A. Koptyug of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The level of scientific research carried out in the IATRP BNTU is confirmed by the high assessments of their results by domestic and foreign scientists, as evidenced by the citation indices in scientific journals of the works of scientists of the branch: Boginsky L.S., Golovin A.N., Gusak N.A., Kruglik G. S., Matrosova V.N., Petrova N.S., Petyushika E.E., Reuta O.P., Romanenkova V.E., Rudenskoy N.A. and etc.

Among the most significant scientific achievements of scientists of the branch of BNTU "IPK and PC" are the following:

• for the development of the theory of light reflection from amplifying and nonlinear media to Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor N.S. Petrov. in 1990 the State Prize of the BSSR in the field of science was awarded;

• for the study of the processes of synthesis of highly dispersed oxide media to the leading researcher, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Romanenkov V.E. In 2005, as part of a team of scientists from the Novosibirsk Institute of Catalysis, the Prize named after Academician V.A. Koptyug of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus;

• in the framework of international cooperation, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Boginsky L.S. together with Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Reut O.P.the problem relevant for thermonuclear fusion has been solved: it has been developed and implemented at the All-Russian Research Institute of Inorganic Materials named after academician A.A. Bochvara (Moscow) new technology, equipment and tools for radial crimping of contact metal joints of conductors of fusion reactor coils;

• Scientific group of the Research Laboratory "Laser Crystals" under the leadership of V.N. Matrosov , Candidate of Technical Sciences. high-quality laser crystals of titanium-activated sapphire were obtained, which were used in a unique femtosecond amplifier with a power of several terawatts, created jointly by a number of European countries to study thermonuclear fusion processes in laboratory conditions;

• for classical studies of charge electrodynamics in semiconductor media, in particular, for the creation of a consistent theory of charge lattices in semiconductors, which has received worldwide recognition, biography of N.A. Gusak , Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences . included in the encyclopedia "Who's Who in the World 2010" by the prestigious publishing house "Marquis" (USA), known for over 100 years;

• a scientific group led by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Golovin A.N.a number of studies were carried out aimed at developing scientific principles and methodological foundations for assessing and predicting the stability of the functioning of the system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements (SUEI) of the Republic of Belarus. Golovin A.N. - one of the main authors of a new multi-parameter discrete-continuous law of distribution of random variables (the so-called GANK law), which is widely used in scientific research, as well as in the educational process;
• developments of the chief researcher of IATRP BNTU d.t.s. Rudenskoy N.A.in the field of creating new materials (clad and conglomerated ceramic and cermet microcomposites, protective coatings, gradient-layer composites) and technologies (plasma spheroidization, metallization, conglomeration, dispersion of microcomposites and ultrafine powders) were awarded 15 medals of various congresses and exhibitions, a special prize of the St. fair and the gold medal of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) "Best female inventor".

Since 1987, the employees of the BNTU "IATRP" branch have published 13 monographs, more than 500 scientific articles and more than 300 abstracts, dozens of textbooks and teaching materials have been published, about 80 copyright certificates and patents have been received. During this period, 6 employees successfully defended doctoral dissertations, 8 - candidate's, 7 - received the academic title of professor and 5 - the academic title of associate professor. Scientists of IPC and PC successfully participate in scientific, scientific and practical events: conferences, exhibitions.
