Research work

Main scientific directions:

  • mechanics of materials and structures;
  • materials science of composites;
  • development of methods and equipment for nanodiagnostics and synthesis of nanomaterials for electronics, optics, mechanical engineering and instrumentation;
  • surface engineering, formation of molecularly thin layers of various functional purposes;
  • development of methods for studying the structure and physical and mechanical properties of nanomaterials;
  • development and research of gas sensors (CO, CH 4 , H 2 ) with low power consumption, manufactured using microelectronic and microsystem technologies for fire detection systems at early stages, including for portable versions of devices;
  • development and research of matrix micromechanical gas sensors with low power consumption with the ability to detect from 3 to 10 different gases;
  • development of patent-clean design and technological solutions for the creation of selective gas microsystems and sensor systems such as "Electronic nose";
  • calculation, modeling and manufacturing of micromechanical sensitive elements of accelerometers of pendulum and axial types operating in the acceleration range up to 1000 g, vibration resonance pressure sensors and micromechanical gyroscopes for orientation and navigation systems;
  • research, development and design of lighting equipment for vehicles with non-replaceable light sources based on LED technology and non-imaging optics; testing of lighting equipment of vehicles (accreditation certificate No. BY/112.02.1.0.0325).
  • research and development of the structure and design of converters of ionizing and solar energy into electrical energy based on multilayer semiconductor structures;
  • analysis of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with semiconductor pn structures and the development of measuring transducers of radiation based on them.

Students take an active part in the research work of the department. Every year, students' works are submitted to the Republican competition of scientific works, articles and abstracts of reports are published at international and republican conferences. Students who have the desire and ability to engage in scientific research can continue their education in the magistracy and postgraduate studies.
