The department "Machines and foundry technology" opens its doors to future applicants
Education is the most important stage in the life of every person. And if secondary education is compulsory, and the choice of one or another educational institution is limited to schools located close to home, then the choices faced by secondary school graduates who decide to continue their studies at a university are extremely diverse. It is necessary to prepare for it consciously and thoroughly - after all, how the future life will turn out largely depends on it.
To facilitate the task of choosing for future applicants and to attract the most active and talented, all universities in the country are conducting an active information and advertising campaign.
Much attention is paid to career guidance and the flagship of the national engineering education - the Belarusian National Technical University. BNTU hosts not only traditional open days for schoolchildren, students of secondary schools and colleges, open lectures, presentations, seminars, master classes are held at faculties and departments.
At the Department of Machinery and Technology of Foundry, not only teachers and engineers, but also undergraduates and senior students actively participate in career guidance events. Meetings are held with high school students and their parents in schools and gymnasiums, meetings with students in colleges and at specialized exhibitions. This year, in order to expand the geography of events and increase the audience, employees of the department not only go to schools, but also hold online meetings and presentations using the information and communication technologies ZOOM, MsTeams, etc.
Only this year, employees and undergraduates of the department held meetings with future students in Minsk schools No. 123, No. 63, No. 139, No. 21, in Zhlobin - in secondary school No. 2, in Luninets - in secondary school No. 4, in Kletsk - in secondary school No. 1 and No. 3, in Borisov - in school No. 17, an online meeting with high school students of school No. 5 in Volkovysk.
The head of the department Rovin Sergey Leonidovich, the assistant professor of the department Rudnitsky Fyodor Ivanovich, the senior teacher Molev Sergey Gennadievich, the assistant Korenyugin Sergey Vladimirovich, the engineer Franchuk Alena Aleksandrovna, the teacher-trainee Dikun Albert Olegovich, undergraduates Kurach Diana Igorevna and Matsinov Sergey Alekseevich met with schoolchildren.
But, perhaps, the most striking and memorable for schoolchildren are master classes and open lectures, which are held at the department. These meetings allow future applicants not only to get information, but also to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the department and student life, sit at their desks, work on laboratory equipment, touch the profession, and participate in the casting process.
At meetings, schoolchildren are interested not only in the passing score and the procedure for entering a university, they are interested in how the classes go, what students study, how they spend time outside of class, is there an opportunity to play sports, dance, creativity, what is life in a student hostel, prospects for distribution and future work, career growth and salary after graduation, etc.
