1-36 02 01 - MACHINERY AND TECHNOLOGY OF FOUNDRY Education system. Since 2018 in accordance with the new curricula, the department is transitioning to a two-level system of higher education: the 1st stage is a 4-year term of study with attestation (preparation and defense of a graduation project) for an engineer diploma, the 2nd stage for those who have received an engineer diploma is training within 1 year (or part-time - within 1.5 years) with the defense of research work and obtaining a master's degree. The students of the department receive fundamental and special knowledge, as well as practical skills in the specialty 1-36 02 01 "Machines and foundry technology" in the field of: – metal science: structure, composition and properties of cast alloys of ferrous and non-ferrous metals; – technologies of a casting mold, shaping and mixture preparation; – computer-aided design and modeling of foundry processes; – development, production and operation of technological equipment; – advanced technologies for melting, forming and processing castings; – new materials and methods for manufacturing technological equipment; – recycling of waste from foundry and related industries; – energy and resource saving; – industrial safety and labor protection in the foundry; – ecology, economics and organization of foundry production. In the process of learning, students, in addition to deep knowledge and skills in special technical disciplines related to technology and equipment for the manufacture of castings, acquire knowledge in general educational humanitarian and natural science subjects, in the basics of marketing and management, standardization and certification, study advanced methods of managing a workforce, master the skills of educational work. Since 2020, within the framework of the specialty "Machines and Technology of Foundry", students have been trained in the specialization 1-36 02 01 05 "Additive Technologies in Foundry". Students undergoing training in this specialization will receive not only broad basic knowledge in the field of theory and practice of foundry production, but also in-depth training in the field of additive technologies, CAD and CAM - design, engineering, automation and digitalization of production and control. Education of students is carried out in accordance with the developed standard and curricula by highly qualified teaching staff. Today, the department has 2 doctors and 7 candidates of technical sciences, 2 senior lecturers and 3 assistants. Teachers teach students the ability to assimilate information, research and analyze, independently make responsible and informed decisions, develop and maintain technical documentation, quickly and competently solve production and organizational issues. On the basis of the department there are four branches, including JSC "Minsk Tractor Plant", at the Baranovichi Machine Tool Plant - a branch of CJSC "Atlant", JSC "BelNIILit" (Minsk) and JSC "Gomel Foundry Plant "Centrolit". At the branches of the department and at other enterprises of the industry in real production conditions, students undergo design, technological and pre-diploma practice. The Department of Foundry Machinery and Technology has close contacts with educational and scientific centers of countries near and far abroad, which allows organizing internships for senior students in foreign partner companies such as HWS, Hüttenes-Albertus, Furtenbach, AVR and others Appointment of a specialist: Graduates of the department are prepared to work as a foreman, technologist, designer in foundries and procurement shops, departments of a technologist, mechanic and designer of machine-building and metallurgical enterprises, in design organizations, research institutions and educational institutions of a technical profile.
