2022 In order to expand international ties, the Department of Engineering Economics has initiated collaborations with the Departments of Economics and Accounting & Audit at the following universities in Uzbekistan: Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov (TSTU), Urgench State University (USU), Andijan Machine Building Institute (AMBI), and Namangan Engineering Technology Institute (NETI). Students of the Department of Engineering Economics now have the opportunity to additionally study a second foreign language - Chinese. |

2020 BNTU has signed an agreement to join the "SAP NextGen / SAP University Alliance" program under an associate membership model, granting rights to use academic materials for educational purposes. Based at the International Academic Competence Center "Polytechnic-SAP" of SPbPU, in collaboration with the Competence Center of the National Technological Initiative "New Production Technologies" of SPbPU, 15 faculty members and 20 students from the Department of Engineering Economics underwent training in the course "Building Business Processes of an Intelligent Enterprise" within the framework of the digital economy |

2019 On February 11, 2019, due to the reorganization of the university, the Department of Engineering Economics was established within the structure of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. This was achieved by merging the Department of Economics and Organization of Mechanical Engineering Production of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with the Department of Economics and Management of Scientific Research, Design, and Production of the Faculty of Instrumentation Engineering. The main research areas of the merged department include issues of innovation management, international scientific and technical cooperation, intellectual property management, and more. |

Faculty members of the department, in collaboration with the State Scientific Institution "Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus," have initiated research on developing tools to assess the commercial potential of innovative products of mechanical engineering enterprises. This research is part of efforts to advance methods and methodologies for virtual testing, computer-aided design, and industrial design of mechanical engineering products using parametric design, additive technologies, and digital manufacturing approaches. As part of organizational activities at BNTU, the Department of Economics and Organization of Mechanical Engineering Production, in conjunction with the Department of Construction Economics, prepared and hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Organization and Standardization of Labor: Science, Education, Practice" on November 15-16, 2018. |

2017 On February 11, 2017, in connection with the 50th anniversary of its establishment, the department was awarded the Certificate of Honor by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus for its significant contribution to the development of economic science and the training of scientific, engineering, and economic personnel for the real sector of the economy of the Republic of Belarus. From February 15-17, an International Scientific and Practical Conference on "Problems of Economics, Organization, and Management of Industrial Enterprises" was held, attended by over 100 participants from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and other countries. |

2016 Collaboration has begun with the Department of Enterprise Economics at Izhevsk State Technical University named after M.T. Kalashnikov (IzSTU), and the Izhevsk Laboratory of Innovative Engineering at the Izhevsk Special Technology Engineering Center of IzSTU. This partnership focuses on the organization of mechanical engineering production and workstations based on lean manufacturing principles using modern information systems. Collaboration with the Higher School of Industrial Management and Economics of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) has been renewed. The goals include conducting joint scientific and practical conferences, seminars, and symposiums, publishing research results in the journals "Scientific and Technical Journal" (St. Petersburg) and "Science and Technology" (Minsk), and implementing academic exchange programs for students and faculty. |

2015 Because of the beginning of the “Industry 4.0” concept an update of the methodology for studying the disciplines of organization, planning and production management had started, as well as systematizing the study of modern means of information support of business processes of an industrial enterprises and practical uses of ERP, SCM, CRM, PLM and other similar systems. |

Male students of the department "Economics and Organization of Machine-building Production" were able to undergo training at the Military Technical Faculty of BNTU which gave them a military rank of "reserve lieutenant". |

2007 On February 11, 2007 (the 40th anniversary of the department) the staff of the department were awarded a Certificate of Honor by the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus for its tremendous contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists in the machine-building industry. On February 15-16, more than 70 people from numerous countries attended an international scientific and practical conference called "Problems of economics, organization and management of industrial enterprises" which was held by the department. |

2001 For the first time, the Department of Economics and Organization of Machine-Building Production was recognized as the top department in the review competition among graduating departments at BNTU. The department initiated scientific research on topics including "Leasing of Industrial Equipment" and "Theoretical Foundations for Assessing the Competitiveness of Machine-Building Products during the Design Stage." |

Valery Innokentievich's primary research focuses on logistics issues in production, sales, and transport; developing mechanisms for material incentives in energy conservation; and applying economic and mathematical methods and models to optimize production processes and assess industrial enterprise efficiency. |

1998 The Department of Economics and Organization of Machine-Building Production at BNTU, in collaboration with the University of Osnabrück (Germany) and the University of Enschede (Netherlands), successfully implemented a project under the International Cooperation Program "Tempus-Tacis." This project aimed to teach students the discipline of "Economics and Management of Foreign Economic Activity." Classes were conducted in Russian, Belarusian, German, and English, led by teachers from Belarus, Germany, and the Netherlands. |

1995 Five employees of BGPA, including three teachers from the Department of Economics and Organization of Machine-Building Production—Associate Professors A.L. Ivashutin and S.V. Glubokiy, and Senior Teacher O.V. Kunevich—participated in an internship at the University of Greenwich. The knowledge and experience acquired during this internship were effectively utilized in the development of new disciplines for Belarus: "Foreign Economic Activity," "Fundamentals of Marketing," and "Macroeconomics." |

1994 Building on the collaboration experience with the University of London and Lille, the Department of Economics and Organization of Machine-Building Production at BGPA (now BNTU) prepared a multinational project named the "Training and Academic Links Project (TACL)." This project involved interuniversity cooperation with the University of Greenwich (London, UK), Tor Vergata University of Rome (Italy), and the Polytechnic School of the Catholic University of Lille (France). Iskortsev, students from the BPI Department of Economics and Organization of Machine-Building Production, successfully completed their studies at Dresden Technical University in the Department of Economics and Organization of Mechanical Engineering. Upon their return to the BSSR, they began working as instructors in the department. |

1971 More than 150 participants from 11 republics of the USSR attended the 1st All-Union Conference “Optimal Service Life and Efficiency of Repair of Machinery and Equipment.” This forum set the course for the department's future scientific research, focusing on determining the effective operational periods of equipment. |

1970 The first graduation of engineer-economists from the Department of "Economics and Organization of Machine-Building Production" took place on June 25, 1970. Their studies were based on advanced teaching methods from leading engineering and economic universities in Moscow, Leningrad, Sverdlovsk, and Kharkov, along with active cooperation with scientific institutes and leading factories in the machine-building industry across the entire USSR, not just the BSSR. This combination of educational and practical approaches laid the foundation for the Belarusian scientific school of production organization. |

1967 The Department of "Economics and Organization of Machine-Building Production" (now "Engineering Economics") was established on February 11, 1967. The department was founded by Professor Nikolay Sidorovich Sachko, PhD in Economics, who was invited to the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute (BPI, now BNTU) from the Voronezh Polytechnic Institute (VPI, now VSTU). Professor Sachko had previously served as the head of the Department of Economics and Organization of Production at VSTU. His major areas of expertise included the organization, planning, and management of production. The first four groups of the department were formed on February 12, 1967, from students who had enrolled at BNTU on September 1, 1965. |
