The XI Staff Training Week has been organized by Granada University, which is one of the most prestigious and large universities in Spain. The university employees describe it as a university of three "not": "not new" (founded in 1531), "not small" (more than 55,000 students and 4,500 graduate students; the university has many branches, including a number in the neighboring continent, creates about 4.6% of the city's GNP) and is "not alone" (it has an extensive network of international contacts in the sphere of education and scientific research; about 8% of its students and 25% of graduate students are foreigners).
More than 130 people from various countries of Europe, Asia and Africa took part in the XI Staff Training Week. Thematic areas (Track Libraries, Track IT, Track Research Support Services, Track International Relations, Track General Administration) were highlighted, within the framework of which various events (lectures, seminars, workshops) were organized. Julia Victorovna, being a participant of Track Research Support Services, visited events on such topics as: "Euraxess: Services and Research Career", "Research Transfer Office", "Research Overview at UGR", "International Projects: a case study (Erasmus + KA2-CBHE ICMED Project), "Center of Scientific Instrumentation (CIC) closed-up: how it works and guided tour", "Medialab. Research Laboratory for Digital Culture and Society "," The Research Support Office: International Projects "," International Welcome Centre ". During these events, information was provided on the specifics of the organization of international scientific research at the University of Granada, on the types and conditions of support, including financial one. There were active discussions in the groups in which participants exchanged experience in supporting international research projects in their universities. The received information, as well as personal contacts, will allow to expand the BNTU's international relations in the educational and research fields in the long term.
Of course, the events held were not confined only to professional sphere. The University of Granada organized a visit to the park of science "ParquedelasCiencias", which is a space of 30 000 square meters. with 10 interactive exhibition halls. The basic principle of this museum is clarity, which means that any visitor can conduct his own scientific experiment on most exhibits.
An informal meeting was organized between the participants and the staff of the university one evening. The meeting took place in Carmen de la Victoria which is a building of the University of Granada with beautiful gardens and a beautiful view of the world famous palace of the era of Al Andalus caliphate - the Alhambra. The building is located in the historical quarter of Albaicin and is usually used to accommodate guest lecturers and as a meeting place. In a relaxed atmosphere, discussions about the prospects for international cooperation between universities were even more lively.
