The International Institute of Distance Education is a division of BNTU. Founded in 2000, the Institute annually awards state-recognized diplomas to over 300 graduates. MIDO graduates are in demand in the Russian labor market as specialists in economics, management, and information technology, with many working in the United States, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Europe, and the Russian Federation. MIDO boasts state-of-the-art facilities for the educational process, including software, databases, a local area network (LAN) of computers, data transmission channels, and internet access. Students also enjoy video lectures, online consultations, and laboratory classes.

Applicants from among foreign citizens and stateless persons (their representatives) submit the following documents to the BNTU Admissions Committee:

an application addressed to the Rector of BNTU in the form established by the Ministry of Education;
the original certificate (document) of education (except for persons studying at an institution of higher education and applying for a second or subsequent higher education, as well as persons applying for distance education) indicating the subjects studied and the grades (points) received for them, subject to the recognition of these documents in the Republic of Belarus in the established manner;
a document confirming the completion of a mandatory medical examination at territorial healthcare organizations determined by BNTU in agreement with the committee (main departments) for healthcare of the Minsk City Executive Committee (regional executive committees), confirming the absence of medical contraindications to studying in the Republic of Belarus;
a certificate of absence of HIV infection issued by the official health authority of the country from which the applicant arrived;
the original (copy) of the birth certificate and (or) other document confirming the date of birth and citizenship - for minor applicants;
certificate of completion of the pre-university training faculty, preparatory department, preparatory courses of the higher education institution - in cases of their completion;
4 color photographs measuring 3×4 cm.

Persons studying at a higher education institution and applying for a second or subsequent higher education, as well as persons applying for distance learning, may submit a copy of their education certificate (document).

The listed documents, executed in a foreign language, must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Belarusian or Russian.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons applying in accordance with international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, using educational grants, may submit original documents to the Admissions Committee upon arrival in the Republic of Belarus before the start of the academic year.
