Graduated from the Faculty of Physics of the Belarusian State University in 1968. From 1968 to 1980 he worked at the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences, since 1980 he has been working at the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU). Defended dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Physics and Mathematics. Sciences on the topic "Instability propagation of small perturbations in a ferromagnetic fluid" in 1973, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences on the topic "Thermomechanics of surface-convective and wave phenomena in magnetizable fluids" in 1986. The title of Associate Professor was awarded in 1984, professor - in 1987. Has more than 350 scientific publications, including more than 100 articles in foreign journals, 30 copyright certificates and patents for inventions.

He was a visiting professor at the EXSON Research Corporation (USA) in 1991, at the University of Paris-7 (France) in 1992, at the University of Barcelona (Spain) in 1992.

In 2003 he was awarded the honorary title "Minsk Resident of the Year" in the field of education and science.

Laureate of the Academician A.V. Lykov Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2007.

Under his leadership, 14 PhD theses were defended.

Scientific interests: thermal physics, fluid and gas mechanics, thermomechanics of magnetic fluids, renewable energy sources.

In 1971 he graduated from the Faculty of Physics of the Belarusian State University. He worked at the Belarusian State University and the Minsk Pedagogical Institute. Since 1984 he worked at BNTU. In 1994 he defended his Ph.D. thesis “Processes of heat and mass transfer in the technologies of gas-phase synthesis of materials for fiber optics and microelectronics”. In 2003 he received the title of Associate Professor.

The main areas of scientific activity are thermal processes in obtaining materials with new properties. Author of more than 60 scientific papers, USSR author's certificate and two patents for inventions.

He graduated from the energy department of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute in 1973 with a degree in Thermal Power Plants. Qualification - thermal power engineer. From 1973 to 1976 - engineer of the thermal mechanical department of BOVNIPIEnergoprom, from 1976 to 2008 graduate student, junior researcher, researcher, senior researcher and leading researcher of the laboratory of dispersed systems of the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer. A.V. Lykov NAS RB. Since 2008 - Associate Professor of the UNESCO Chair at BNTU.

Defended dissertations for the degree of candidate of technical sciences in the specialty "Theoretical foundations of heat engineering" on the topic "Characteristics of heat and mass transfer to a moving and fixed surface in a fluidized bed and methods for their calculation in relation to the combustion of solid fuels" in 1984. During 1989- 2004 was sent to Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden) to conduct joint studies of heat and mass transfer and macrokinetics in combustion processes and thermochemical conversion of plant biomass in a fluidized and circulating fluidized bed. In 1998, he completed his Ph.D. in Energy Conversion from Chalmers Technical University.

Directions of scientific activity: methods for calculating interfacial heat and mass transfer, macrokinetics of combustion of alternative fuels, modeling and scaling of the furnace process and intensification of heat transfer in a fluidized bed.  

He has more than 200 scientific publications, including 13 copyright certificates and patents for inventions.

He gave lectures on the disciplines "Heat transfer", "Heat and mass transfer", "Fuel and its use", "Heat and mass transfer apparatus", "Heat and mass transfer processes and installations"

She graduated from the Power Engineering Department of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute in 1974 with a degree in Thermal Power Plants (diploma with honors). Her qualification is thermal power engineer. From 1974 to 1977, she worked as an engineer in the thermal-mechanical department of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Power Engineering (VNIPIEnergoprom). From 1977 to 1980, she was a graduate student in the Industrial Thermal Power Engineering Department of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute. Since 1980, she has worked at the Belarusian National Technical University. Associate Professor of the UNESCO Department of Energy Saving and Renewable Energy Sources since 1997 (since the department's founding).
She defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the specialty "Theoretical Foundations of Thermal Engineering" on the topic "Characteristics of Heat Transfer and Resistance of Air-Water Flows in Channels Applied to Heat-Using Devices" in 1984 at the A.V. Lykov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer, Academy of Sciences of the Byelorussian SSR. She has been an associate professor since 1991 (Department of Industrial Heat Power Engineering and Thermal Engineering). In 2006, 2007, and 2011, she was awarded Honorary Diplomas from the Belarusian National Technical University, and in 2011, a Diploma from the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Research interests: biomass conversion, development, calculation, and thermodynamic analysis of promising schemes for the production of heat and electricity with in-cycle biomass conversion.
She participated in the project "Development of a training network to improve education in the field of energy efficiency." (ENERGY)" of the TEMPUS program. She participated as the head of the state program "Energy Security, Energy Efficiency, and Energy Saving, Nuclear Energy" (subprogram "Energy Efficiency" (tasks 2.2.1 and 2.1.6).
She has over 120 scientific publications, including four copyright certificates and patents for inventions, and one monograph.
She lectures on the subjects "Thermodynamics," "Real Gas Thermodynamics," "Fundamentals of Energy Saving," and "Thermodynamic Analysis of Technical Systems" (for master's students).

Svetlana Georgievna Pogirnitskaya
Graduated from the Belarusian State University in 1981 with a degree in Applied Mathematics. From 1981 to 1985, she worked at the Institute of Technical Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR. She has been working at BNTU since 1985. She has been at the UNESCO Department of Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Sources since 1997.
She is responsible for organizing thesis projects and assigning students in the Energy Efficient Technologies and Energy Management specialty. At the department, she is involved in the integration of information technology and computerized testing systems into the educational process.
Research interests: computer modeling of hydrodynamics and heat transfer in magnetic fluids, energy conservation, and the development of an information educational environment. She has over 80 publications.
Gives lectures and conducts laboratory and practical classes in the disciplines of "Computer Science", "Numerical Methods and Data Processing", "Information Technology", "Computer Graphics", "Modern Technologies for Solving Engineering Problems", "Fundamentals of Energy Saving".
