The training of specialists in the specialty "Heat and Gas Supply, Ventilation and Protection of the Air Basin" in full-time and part-time forms of education has been carried out by the graduating department "Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation" since 1930.
Graduates of the department receive a professional qualification "engineer-civilian". The high level of training of engineers in this specialty is ensured by the scientific potential of the staff of the department and the technical equipment of educational laboratories. A great contribution to the training of specialists is made by the presence at the department of a research and testing laboratory of building thermal physics and engineering systems of buildings.

The main types of professional activity of graduates: production and technological, design, installation and commissioning, repair and maintenance, organizational and managerial, research in the field of heat and gas supply systems for cities, settlements, industrial and municipal enterprises, agricultural facilities, heating systems, ventilation and air conditioning of residential, public and industrial buildings and structures.
Much attention is paid to the environmental and resource-saving orientation of training, which allows to ensure the creation of effective technologies and equipment for environmentally friendly processes of heat and gas supply and ventilation in the republican system for monitoring the state of the environment.
The need of enterprises and organizations of the Republic for graduates of the department is great: the number of applications for distribution significantly exceeds the number of graduates.
