XIX National Competition of Graduates' Diploma Projects of Higher and Secondary Specialized Schools of the Republic of Belarus

1. First Place Diploma Ivan Andreevich Kazachenok. Thesis Topic: "Minsk-Vostochny Transport Hub". Supervisor: Sergey Gavrilovich Pinchuk.
2. Second Place Diploma Ksenia Gennadievna Dulchevskaya. Thesis topic: "Renovation of a brewery in the village of Soveiki". Supervisor: Olga Ivanovna Sysoeva.
3. 2nd degree diploma Elizaveta Sergeyevna Stadolnik. Thesis topic: "Renovation of production buildings of the Udarnik plant in Minsk". Supervisor: Olga Ivanovna Sysoeva.

In accordance with the curriculum, students of the department undergo practical training at facilities and enterprises in Minsk and the Republic of Belarus.

On June 25-26, 2024, thesis projects were defended.

27 theses were presented for defense, more than half of which received an “excellent” rating. Diploma projects were carried out in a variety of areas, including the following topics: car service complex, industrial hotel, airport, reconstruction and renovation of industrial facilities, logistics complex. 9 works were recommended for participation in the Republican and international competition.

Monograph “Architecture of industrial hubs of Belarus: history and development prospects”

Authors:

• Elena Borisovna Morozova, Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Head of the Department of “Architecture of Industrial Facilities and Architectural Structures” of BNTU;
• Shikovets Alexander Viktorovich, candidate of architecture, associate professor of the department of “Architecture of production facilities and architectural structures” of BNTU.

An industrial hub is a typological unit of architecture and urban planning, representing one of the forms of group placement of production facilities. Introduced into domestic practice in the 1960s, it became widespread, demonstrating both the positive and problematic aspects of this territorial entity. The socio-economic changes of the last 30 years in the republic have seriously transformed the conditions for the existence of industrial hubs, which has put forward an urgent need for the development of scientifically based directions for their reorganization and future development.

The monograph reflects the results of a study of the history of the creation of domestic industrial hubs - the features of their design, construction and operation, spatial and structural-functional organization, participation in the urban development of settlements, as well as the place and role of these formations in global practice and architectural theory. The directions for promising transformations of all 52 industrial hubs of the Republic of Belarus at a new stage of development are scientifically substantiated.

51 thesis papers were presented for defense, half of which received an “excellent” rating. Diploma projects were carried out on a variety of topics, including the following sections: search topics, new construction objects, reconstruction objects. 12 works were recommended for participation in the Republican and international competition.

79th student scientific and technical conference of BNTU

On April 20, a student scientific and technical conference was held. In total, 65 students took part in the conference, 41 reports were presented, 11 of which were recommended for publication.

Main problems reflected in the reports:

• new design solutions for civil and industrial buildings;
• use of new building materials;
• energy saving and energy efficiency in construction;
• reconstruction of industrial facilities;
• ecological construction;
• issues of insolation and lighting in architecture;
• design of room acoustics.

AWARDING THE WINNERS OF THE XVI REPUBLICAN COMPETITION OF THE THERMAL PROJECTS

On October 29, 2022, the results of the XVI Republican competition of diploma projects for graduates of higher and secondary special architectural schools of the Republic of Belarus were summed up.

In the nomination "Architecture of production facilities" awards were presented to graduates of the department:

• Ptashits Yanina Gennadievna : Waste processing plant in Minsk, head Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Head. department Morozova Elena Borisovna , - Diploma of the 1st degree, Diploma of the Ministry of Education.
• Zakharenkova Yulia Vladimirovna: Transport interchange hub "Minsk-Severny", head of art. teacher Rachkevich Tatyana Evgenievna , - Diploma of the 1st degree, Diploma of the Ministry of Education, special prize of the Knauf company.
• Sviridova Maria Artemovna: A person in an aggressive environment: a research and production complex in the 30 km zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (based on the technological developments of BNTU), head candidate of architecture, associate professor Shikovets Alexander Viktorovich , - Diploma of the II degree, Diploma of the Ministry of Education.

ON JUNE 22-24 DEFENSE OF THE THERMAL PROJECTS PASSED

27 theses were presented for defense, half of which were rated "excellent". Diploma projects were carried out on a variety of topics, including the following sections: search topics, new construction objects, reconstruction objects. The topics of four works were related to BNTU. 

8 works were recommended for the republican competition.

The State Examination Commission (GEK-1) was headed by Valentina Semyonovna Nazaruk, head of the Department of Technical Development, Transport and Capital Construction of Belcoopsoyuz.

Kalvaryskaya held an open presentation of the monograph "Industrial Infrastructure of the City as a Spatial System: Formation, Development, Transformation" . The authors of the publication - the head of the department "Architecture of industrial facilities and architectural structures" doctor of science, professor Morozova Elena Borisovna and senior lecturer, candidate of architecture Dolinina Olga Evgenievna - delivered a joint lecture on the research topic.
