Born on June 3, 1948 in Odessa.
Parents: father is from Karabakh, mother is Belarusian.
In 1965, he graduated from high school in Minsk with a gold medal. He graduated from the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Architecture in 1970. In 1974, he defended his PhD dissertation on "Road Architecture," the first such dissertation in the USSR. From 1974 to 2005, he worked for the republic's road organizations. From 2005 to the present, he has been the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at BNTU.
Working in the Belarusian road sector as a chief architect, he personally and as the head of a creative team developed over 250 projects for road improvement, bridge structures, road maintenance, and design. He continues his creative work as an architect today at BNTU, working primarily in the field of memorial architecture.
The author of architectural projects: “The Beginning of Belarusian Roads” on Oktyabrskaya Square in Minsk (1998), the boulevard along Lenin Street in Minsk (2002-2003), the memorial sign “The Intercession of the Mother of God” in Molodechno (2011), the monument “Polotsk – the Cradle of Belarusian Statehood” (2017), the monument “To Belarusians Abroad” in Minsk (2018), the monument to Antoni Tyzenhaus in Postavy (2019), the memorial sign “Crystal of Knowledge” in Minsk (2020), etc.
Over the past three years, he has published 25 scientific papers. In total, he has published over 200 works, including 20 books. He is the editor-in-chief and chairman of the editorial board of two scientific publications recognized by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus.
Books of recent years: “Beauty. Aesthetics of Belarusian Architecture” (2015), “Mirror of Beauty. Aesthetics of Persian Architecture” (2017), “Finding Paradise. Gardens and Parks in Belarusian and World Architecture” (2020), “Temple. Traditions of World and Belarusian Architecture” (2020), etc. The works of A. S. Sardarov were published in China (1989), USA (1992), Poland (2005, 2007, 2011), Russia (2010, 2019).
He was awarded state awards: the Order of Honor (2020) and the Francysk Skaryna Medal (2011); the Medal of the Belarusian Orthodox Church of St. Cyril of Turov (2008); six silver medals of the USSR Exhibition of Economic Achievements (1981, 1982, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1991); the "Honorary Road Builder" badges of the 1st and 2nd degrees (2002, 2005); the gold medal "For Merits in Science" of the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction (2011); the breastplate of Polotsk State University (2013). The title of "Minsk Resident of the Year" (2012). Honorary certificates and diplomas from the Minsk Regional and City Councils, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Architecture and Construction, BNTU, and others. Laureate and diploma winner of international and national competitions for architectural projects, scientific publications, and photography.
