In 1989 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Geographical Sciences. Dissertation topic: “Features of the development of water-erosion processes on the territory of Belarus” in the specialty “Geomorphology and evolutionary geography.” Associate Professor in the specialty "Geography" 2000

Participant of numerous international and republican scientific and scientific-practical conferences. Author of more than 280 scientific and educational works. He is a member of the Presidium of the Belarusian Geographical Society (1981) and heads the Gomel regional department of the NGO "BGO", is a member of the National Committee for Quaternary Research in Belarus (2018). Member of the Belarusian group of the International Association of Geological Engineers. Member of the editorial board of the journal Geography.

Area of scientific interests: geomorphology, geology, hydrogeology, Quaternary geology, environmental management.

Disciplines taught: Hydrogeology, Borehole development of mineral deposits.
