Graduated from the Belarusian State University (1963). He began his scientific and pedagogical activities in 1966. More than 200 scientific works with a volume of over 700 printed pages have been published, including 15 individual monographs and 41 collective works (under his scientific supervision and editorship), 67 chapters and sections in collective works, dozens of scientific articles.
V.A. Bobkov is a major interdisciplinary scientist: in the field of political science, sociology, political history, state and party building, social management, international relations. His scientific works analyze the nature of socio-political and socio-economic processes in Belarusian society, the problems of interaction between government and citizens, the creation of an effective system of state building, the geopolitical dimension of Belarus, etc.
A number of his major scientific works were published by the famous Moscow publishing house "Politizdat": "Scientific approach in party work" (1985), "Revival of the spirit of Leninism" (1989), etc. With his author's participation and under his scientific leadership, the monograph "Belarus in Integration projects" (Mn, "Belaruskaya Navuka", 2011), which for the first time comprehensively examines the entire integration path of sovereign Belarus, the country's opportunities and problems, and offers specific recommendations to government and management bodies. In a number of modern works, the author pays great attention to the scientific analysis of the system of humanities education in the Republic of Belarus.
V.A. Bobkov successfully combines his scientific activities with teaching work at the university - he organizes and leads the work on the creation of teaching aids, methodological recommendations, scientific articles in the disciplines “Political Science”, “Sociology”, “Fundamentals of the Ideology of the Belarusian State”. Under the scientific guidance and authorship of V.A. Bobkov, the first textbook in our country “Political Science” was prepared and published (Mn., 2000)
