born 1958 works as a senior lecturer at the Mining Machines Department of BNTU after graduating from BPI with a degree in Peat Machines and Complexes in 1980. Performs all types of teaching load in the profile disciplines of the department at a high professional level. Carries out a lot of social and educational work among young people, as a curator of student groups. Conducts extensive scientific research on the modernization of the working bodies and propulsion of technological machines, as well as the optimization of the operating modes of mining equipment. Maintains close ties with colleagues from leading universities in Russia and Ukraine. Professional activity of Basalaya G.A. is inextricably linked to the successful involvement of students in scientific research and creative development. In scientific collections based on conference materials and periodicals under the direction of G.A. Basalaya students published over 90 works. More than 26 patents for inventions have been received for fundamentally new developments for the modernization of mining machines in co-authorship with students. For the period from 2007 to 2015, according to the results of the Republican competitions of scientific works of students, out of 31 scientific works performed under the guidance of G.A. Basalai, 18 were assigned to the first category, and the authors of 12 works were laureates. At the competitions "Best student-researcher of BNTU" in the nomination "Mineral development" for 2007-15, 9 students are winners. In June 2007 G.A. Basalai was approved by the scientific director of the Gornyak student scientific and creative bureau, whose team is formed of students from three specialties of the Faculty of Mining and Engineering Ecology. Scientific work is carried out within the framework of research on the topic "Justification and development of elements of technologies and equipment for the extraction and processing of minerals" with teachers from the Department of Mining Machines. In the period from 2011 to 2019, more than 30 students under the guidance of G.A. Basalaya took part in nine international conferences held at the leading mining universities in Russia. In 2014 and 2015, 7 students took an active part in the III and IV Forums of the Union State of Engineering and Technology Universities, as well as two Belarusian-Chinese Youth Innovation Forums "New Horizons". In 2011-2015 speakers led by G.A. Basalaya took an active part in five international forums-competitions of students and young scientists "Problems of subsoil use", held at the National Mineral and Raw Materials University "Gorny". Annually, young scientists and graduate students from about 70 mining universities in 15 countries of the world take part in the forums. According to the results of the meetings of the section "Comprehensive development of deposits and deep processing of hard minerals, including coal and shale", "Mining electromechanics and equipment", as well as "Engineering and mining equipment", 10 students of BNTU were recognized as winners in the nomination "Best Student". Currently, in the SNTB "Gornyak" under the leadership of G.A. Basalaya continues research to improve the efficiency of mining equipment used in the underground development of potash deposits, technological machines for peat production, as well as a modern domestic complex of coiled tubing units for drilling and servicing oil and gas wells. Promising constructive solutions are worked out by students in the course of course projects in specialized disciplines, as well as in graduation design. Seven people from among the creative team of G.A. Basalaya defended their master's theses and are currently studying in graduate school. For a special contribution to the development of the abilities of gifted students in the field of science, engineering and technology of mining, Basalai G.A., scientific director of the scientific and creative student bureau "Gornyak", was encouraged by the special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the social support of gifted students and students.
