The department of IITT is one of the leading instrument-making departments of the Republic of Belarus, which trains specialists in the field of information-measuring equipment and its applications in various areas of the national economy.
More than 550 full-time and part-time students study at the department. Training of specialists with higher education is carried out in a form integrated with secondary specialized education. The educational base includes two computer classes (Modeling and design of devices, Telecommunication information security systems), laboratories of electronics and circuitry, microprocessors, physical foundations of measurements and sensor technology, methods and means of non-destructive testing, technical means of protection and many others.
The department has the closest contacts with enterprises and organizations interested in our graduates. Among them: factories and design bureaus of PA "Integral", Department of Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, JSC "Zavod Spetsavtomatika", JSC "Belspetsproekt", MNIPI, State Scientific Institution "Institute of Applied Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus"and other institutes of the National Academy of Sciences. Practices are organized on their basis, diploma design is carried out, which allows them to be conducted on real topics in production conditions, on the most modern equipment in the republic. They are based on the training of specialists, and to ensure its quality and modern level, the department has created the necessary scientific and industrial bases. The Department operates the Design Workshop "Security Technologies", which has licenses for the design of security and fire alarm systems, video surveillance and access control, information protection.
At the department there are the Research Laboratory of Optoelectronic Instrumentation (NIL OEP) and the Research Laboratory of Semiconductor Engineering (NIL PT) .
In the NIL OEP there is a "Certification Body for Special Protection Equipment" with a "Testing Center for Special Protection Equipment"
To ensure the training of specialists, the profiling department "Information-measuring equipment and technologies" created branches in the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Applied Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus" and JSC "Zavod Spetsavtomatika", which allows using their equipment for laboratory work, attracting qualified specialists from production to the educational process , thereby bringing the learning process as close as possible to the real needs of the market. Conditions are created for students to engage in scientific work, both at the graduating department and in branches
