Department Research in 2025
In 2025, Stage 5, "Developing Effective Industrial Products," was completed as part of Project No. 21-277, "Developing Methods for Assessing the Manufacturability of Packaging Equipment, Technologies for Producing Packaging Products from Plant Waste and Recycling Packaging Waste, Systems for Protecting Packaging from Counterfeiting, and Effective Industrial Products" (assignment deadline: 2021-2025, scientific supervisor: Head of Department, Associate Professor P.A. Kashevsky). The research assignment was completed during the second half of the workday.
Key results:
– A methodology for calculating an integrated indicator for assessing packaging manufacturability was developed;
– A model for dynamically assessing packaging manufacturability indicators was constructed and analyzed. A graph of the failure rate dependence on the level of labor and production organization was constructed;
– Results of a study of process modes for producing modified burr boards were obtained, and parameters for producing boards using low-toxicity binders were selected;
– Technologies for producing film coatings based on natural polymers were proposed. Samples of packaging materials were developed that are safe, stable throughout the product's shelf life, and extend product shelf life;
– A counterfeit protection system for packaging materials for the specified product was developed. The proposed design was seamlessly integrated into the design of actual packaging products, and a mockup of the packaging product with the counterfeit protection system was developed;
– A design project for cutlery of the Eurasian cultural tradition made of polypropylene and polylactide was developed. Using computer analysis, weaknesses in the cutlery design were identified, and their design was optimized.
Student Research Work (SRW) of the Department in 2025
The main goal of SRW is to create conditions for students to realize their scientific potential, develop research skills, and actively engage in research activities.
The main forms of SRW are:
- participation in research;
- work in scientific and subject-specific sections;
- preparation of publications in scientific journals, collections of reports, conference materials, and abstracts;
- participation in international and national competitions, exhibitions, and seminars.
Students are involved in research from their first year, parallel to their specialized courses. By the time they complete their first year of study, students interested in research have several publications, have presented at university, national, and international conferences, and have received recommendations for admission to a master's program.
In 2025, 68 students participated in SRW. Three works by students from the department were submitted to the XXXII Republican Student Research Paper Competition. A total of 17 works were submitted to competitions other than the Republican Student Research Paper Competition.
Five works were prepared and submitted to the "Clockwork Orange 2025" International Student Packaging Design Competition (Moscow). A bronze diploma was awarded.
In 2025, students prepared and published 41 scientific articles. The number of student presentations (oral and poster) presented by students at conferences, symposia, and congresses was 42.
In 2025, personal scholarships were awarded to 30 students, and a personal scholarship was awarded to one student. Five graduates of the department were awarded the "BNTU Student Research Activist" diploma in 2025.
